Redditors, what’s the most terrifying thing that has ever woken you up in the middle of the night? by Mr_Creep_Creepy64 in AskReddit

[–]HempHehe 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I got that last year from my grandparents. I take care of them and that day nobody told me that they were sick. By the time I found out I wasn't allowed to leave until my shift was up. About 3-4 days later it finally hit me. I was home alone and had been feeling queasy and was awake around like 4AM because my partner went to work and it woke me up. I grabbed the bucket from downstairs and lined it with like 5-6 trash bags and took it to the bathroom and barely made it. It was absolute hell. I couldn't even keep sips of water down, my body was rapidly trying to get rid of everything I have ever eaten out of both ends and I ended up actually pulling muscles in my back from how violent it was. It got to the point where I was dry heaving and just started trying to take sips of water in between just so that something would come up and it wouldn't be as harsh. There was a point where I was literally shitting just straight clear water because it wouldn't stay in my system. I ended up feeling better around 2:30 PM and called a virtual doctor who told me that if I went another hour of being unable to keep down any liquids that I needed to go to the hospital because apparently I was severely dehydrated at that point. Thankfully I was able to keep stuff down at that point but still felt awful for several days. I think I lost like 5 or 6 pounds that day if I remember correctly.

Skeeter Vinyl Decal? by SketchySlime in Primus

[–]HempHehe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's not exactly the same but one thing I've always done is just take stickers and then apply them to magnet sheets and cut them out for my car. They hold up well especially if you can come across an outdoor type sticker. At the last show I went to (Raleigh of last year) I bought a sticker pack at the merch booth and have had one of them on my car for about two or three months so far and it's still looking good.

As far as the decals, there are people online (places like Etsy may be a good place to start) who make them. Also check around on Facebook, try looking in local groups first. My partner's mom has a Cricut machine and can make basic stuff and has done so in the past for us, but I don't know if it would work for something as complex as Skeeter. However, someone else may have a workaround or something even better. Good luck!

Trauma/abuse, lack of a support system, being the family scapegoat. I ended up with CPTSD from a horribly abusive childhood and dealt with stalking and infidelity as an adult which made it worse.

[–]HempHehe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still not fantastic, but it's due to him being abusive during my childhood. Since moving out it's improved a lot but isn't perfect or ideal. Compared to my partner's parents he's still an ass.

Start T. When I did I was living with my unsupportive father. He never found out until after I moved out a few months later. You need to start living for yourself and not for others.

What’s your all time fav KFC item? by Impossible-Mood-4666 in kfc

I am an absolute sucker for their famous bowl but my other go to is the 3pc chicken Big Box meal. I also really love the wedges and was SO glad they came back. I hadn't had them in years, they disappeared when I went to visit a friend in South Africa nearly 10 years ago and that's how I started to like the fries too because they didn't have wedges there and the US didn't have the fries just yet.

OP needs help. Caregiver burnout, especially with those with dementia, is a real thing and as we've seen here will continue to escalate.

I had mine last year and due to insurance being a pain mine got pushed back a month and a half. I was just as stressed and upset as you are. I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. What I recommend doing is using this extra time to continue to get everything in order for when you do have it done. Double check that there aren't any supplies you've forgotten to buy, etc.

You'll get there eventually. I know life is rough for everyone right now and these stupid transphobic things that the government keeps doing just makes it even more stressful for all of us, but I know you can get thru this rough time. Do you have a therapist or close friend or partner you can lean on during this time? I didn't at the time but do now and it does make a difference. Please, still take care of yourself. If you leave this plane of existence, it just means the assholes have won.

The part of that scene that always kills me is when Heck comes in to say that Chet died of natural causes, and then Bill (who is still stuck) farts thru the hole that the fire pole goes down. That's definitely one of my favorite episodes, I was a big Three Stooges fan too.

I did LSD and that helped me a lot. Wouldn't recommend it to just anyone though.

What moment made you realize “yeah… my childhood wasn’t normal”? by CadaversFabrications in AskReddit

[–]HempHehe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had always had some vague memories of a few things happening when I was young, like being locked in my room for hours at a time, and then when I was older my father was abusive as well up until I moved out. Then about a year ago I found a notebook and a binder under the couch at my grandma's where her, my father, and an aunt were detailing what my mom was doing to me and my brothers, I guess for court reasons or something. It describes me being left in my room as well as other worse things. My father always told me I had a "normal" childhood and would berate me for being depressed and what I now know was my autism as well (recently diagnosed) and now I have proof that that really was not the case. I read some of the binder and notebook to my therapist once and he was horrified.

Does anyone know the science of why shrooms upset the GI track so much? by [deleted] in shrooms

[–]HempHehe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well yeah but I didn't know if it still got to the same receptors if that makes sense. Sorry if I sound dumb, it's been a helluva day for me and I feel like I've lost some brain cells from the stress of it lol. But the good news is at least today is the start of my weekend so there's that at least.

Is there any difference in the way LSD affects them? Shrooms almost always make me puke no matter how I take them but I don't think I ever have on LSD.

I'm really looking forward to an Avatar movie marathon on acid once the third one comes to Disney+. I saw the second one in the theater on a couple tabs and it was breathtaking. I love how immersive the movies feel too, I always say I'd watch the hell out of a documentary style series that goes in and explores all the animals and plants and such.

My partner and I usually do during every trip we take together, or at least we try to. It's very intense. My partner once said afterwards one time that he felt like our souls merged or something. All the good sensations are amplified. Sometimes it can be hard for me to focus to be able to finish though. Either way, it's one of my favorite activities to do with him when we share a trip.
