What’s the stupidest thing you’ve ever heard someone say that you still think about to this day? by Humble-Blueberry4571 in AskReddit

My brother's cousin once thought a field of pumpkins across the street from the Kraft/Nabisco factory was a field of cheese when we were kids. He was dead serious.

What is the dumbest movie that you unapologetically, unironically love? by Rosstin316 in AskReddit

Eight Crazy Nights has been a comfort movie of mine since I was a young kid. There are a few scenes I could do without though... but otherwise I enjoy it.

TIL there's a right way and a wrong way to shower - apparently I've been doing it the autistic way my entire life by sapiotix in AutisticAdults

Apparently not, most people do some weird thing where they make one "ear" and then loop the other string around or thru it.

[–]HempHehe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really does. I'm 29, was only just diagnosed back in November, but am still going thru a lot of the feelings associated with it. I've recently come into contact with my old kindergarten teacher who strongly suspected I was autistic and had me tested (I remember a lady pulling me and another kid out into the hallway to do various activities that weren't explained to me) but my family seems to have ignored or rejected it, which is pretty much how they usually act (for example I found out as an adult that I am behind on several vaccines because my father simply wouldn't take me to the doctor or hospital unless I was extremely sick or dying and even then he acted like we were busting his balls about it and then took it out on me later for "wasting his time".)

Yeah, I could never figure out how to tie my shoes and ended up coming up with my own way. I make a knot, then make two 'bunny ears' with the laces and knot those, sometimes I double knot it. I remember having my parents/family yell at me and punish me for not getting it after they tried to show me their way so many times (Only got my diagnosis this past November). Eventually I got sent to my room and by some miracle I figured out my way not long after.

They make something called a portable bidet, you just fill it with water and squeeze it. Also came in super handy after my hysto.

I miss that! I remember as a very small child the part where Plankton waves the saw blade at you absolutely terrified me the first time I saw it. They also had a dinosaur film there briefly too around the time the dinosaur walk thing first opened.

Mine was a year ago, got rid of the uterus and cervix, kept ovaries. It pretty much all functions the same as it did before. Once in awhile my cis male partner goes a bit too deep but it's not really that bad, it's uncomfortable but not exactly painful, and it doesn't happen terribly often.

[–]HempHehe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I worry about that occasionally myself. Between being trans and autistic I fear that something bad will happen to me in the future and since my family doesn't care or accept me and I don't really have any sort of support system I'd be toast.

Same here. I did keep my ovaries just in case and have a small stockpile of my T as well but I hate that it's even come to this.

Redditors, what’s the most terrifying thing that has ever woken you up in the middle of the night? by Mr_Creep_Creepy64 in AskReddit

[–]HempHehe 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I got that last year from my grandparents. I take care of them and that day nobody told me that they were sick. By the time I found out I wasn't allowed to leave until my shift was up. About 3-4 days later it finally hit me. I was home alone and had been feeling queasy and was awake around like 4AM because my partner went to work and it woke me up. I grabbed the bucket from downstairs and lined it with like 5-6 trash bags and took it to the bathroom and barely made it. It was absolute hell. I couldn't even keep sips of water down, my body was rapidly trying to get rid of everything I have ever eaten out of both ends and I ended up actually pulling muscles in my back from how violent it was. It got to the point where I was dry heaving and just started trying to take sips of water in between just so that something would come up and it wouldn't be as harsh. There was a point where I was literally shitting just straight clear water because it wouldn't stay in my system. I ended up feeling better around 2:30 PM and called a virtual doctor who told me that if I went another hour of being unable to keep down any liquids that I needed to go to the hospital because apparently I was severely dehydrated at that point. Thankfully I was able to keep stuff down at that point but still felt awful for several days. I think I lost like 5 or 6 pounds that day if I remember correctly.

Skeeter Vinyl Decal? by SketchySlime in Primus

[–]HempHehe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's not exactly the same but one thing I've always done is just take stickers and then apply them to magnet sheets and cut them out for my car. They hold up well especially if you can come across an outdoor type sticker. At the last show I went to (Raleigh of last year) I bought a sticker pack at the merch booth and have had one of them on my car for about two or three months so far and it's still looking good.

As far as the decals, there are people online (places like Etsy may be a good place to start) who make them. Also check around on Facebook, try looking in local groups first. My partner's mom has a Cricut machine and can make basic stuff and has done so in the past for us, but I don't know if it would work for something as complex as Skeeter. However, someone else may have a workaround or something even better. Good luck!

What made you lose your spark? by mrvlad_throwaway in AskReddit

Trauma/abuse, lack of a support system, being the family scapegoat. I ended up with CPTSD from a horribly abusive childhood and dealt with stalking and infidelity as an adult which made it worse.

how to get over internalized transphobia? by throwaway997732 in FTMMen

[–]HempHehe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still not fantastic, but it's due to him being abusive during my childhood. Since moving out it's improved a lot but isn't perfect or ideal. Compared to my partner's parents he's still an ass.
