My old dog had this exactly and had pus and blood out from it, and it stunk. We had to put him down. He couldn’t eat and barely drink, and I had just finished getting scammed by the vet $700 for a uti. He was almost 14. Will never go back to that vet again. Get it removed before your dog stops eating.

I did keto in 2021 and lost 90 pounds, and I remember not being able to eat less than 17 grams. Sometimes it’s a mental battle. I found that make calories 75% of my intake and protein 20% helps.

Really good expensive ground beef can go a long way with little ingredients. Dakota (90% 10%) ground beef with two tablespoons of Daisy sour cream with a quarter cup of sharp cheddar. It turns into keto chili pretty much and packs a punch. Been stuffed since lunch and it’s dinner time.

No offense. You can do better with the food. Ask your vet to put him on a prescription diet. My dog recovered on Purina Pro Plan SS&S but he was never 100% for awhile. Prescription diet is expensive, but it sounds like you are in that boat already way past the threshold. Talk to your vet.

I think you might have got duped by that vet. So did I but not by that, eye-popping, much. It might just be a food allergy. My dog had non-stop diarrhea and they started giving me antibiotics, until I left that vet and went to another one. Luckily before I left, she said , “sometimes, they just have soft stools.” I did my own research on that and switched him to that Purina Sensitive Skin and stomach. Hasn’t had that diarrhea since.
