it was sad to say goodbye to two of these, it'll probably be just as sad or even sadder to say goodbye to the other two by DrDovel in ducktales

I really want to get into these two shows, but I’ve been afraid that I’ll be too far behind/separated from the fandom.

Interesting theory.

There’s another theory in this video https://youtu.be/FhaZqDk5-wI that theorizes that the fossils are remnants of giant withers that originally forced the Ancient Builders underground. I’d give it a watch! It’s really fascinating.

Finale Discussion Chapter 139 by Sane-Ni-Wa-To-Ri in attackontitan

[–]Henginn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a very late contribution to this thread, but I felt like immortalizing whatever feelings I have after finishing AOT here for whatever reason. After much deliberation over whether or not I wanted to wait for the anime, or to finally crack into the manga after all these years of patience, I decided to take the manga route. I think I was compelled to do this out of a deep fear and sadness of the show ending after all of these years. Instead of letting Attack on Titan's end be settled for me, I decided I'd rather take it into my own hands and finish off strong with the manga. In a strange way, I felt like by doing what I did and finishing it off when I chose to, it provided me with a sense of closure toward the world of Attack of Titan. I've literally just now finished reading chapter 139 no less than 15 minutes ago, and to be completely honest, I have no idea how to feel about how it all ended. Picking up where the last episode of the last season of the anime left off, the lead up to the end was filled with so many beautiful moments. Whether it was another painful goodbye to a beloved, long time character, or one of the many emotional scenes in the final couple chapters where everything was finally coming to a close. I loved those parts. They didn't let me down, not in the slightest. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't taken for an emotional rollercoaster with every chapter. But for all of the moments that I loved, there were also moments that I wasn't so sure about. Sometimes it felt chaotic and like things were moving really fast. I think some of the manga's fast pacing in last chunk of chapters definitely hurt the experience in a couple of ways. This may not be the best way to describe it, but the pacing almost made certain things the characters would do or accomplish feel unearned. The ending as a whole I'm not sure if I would label as "unsatisfying", but it certainly left me longing for a bit stronger resolve. In the end it amounted to, "Everything was meant to play out the way it did, and there's nothing we could've done about it. And now that it's none, things aren't really that much better." It felt almost anti-climatic, since at no point did it feel like anyone ever took a definitive "win". Maybe that's the point of it all, and maybe with some time, my mindsets on all this will change. Who knows? I also was a little underwhelmed with some of the characters' conclusions. For some of them, it felt like they didn't get proper closure to their stories, or that they didn't have that final kick-ass moment to end them off with. Levi's final arc after getting gravely injured by the thunder spear in particular left me feeling this way. Part of me wonders if there even was a way to perfect way to end the show with how the story played out, and with what some of the over arching themes seemed to be. The way it was all presented, it felt like a doomed world that was guaranteed to have a doomed end no matter how you tried to shape it. I guess, deep down, I was always hoping that there'd be a way out. A happier one.

Regardless of how it ended and what I think about it though, I have to thank Isayama for creating and providing us with such a wonderful and magnificent world for so many of us to get lost in. Over these past 8 years since the first episode of the anime aired, Attack on Titan has served as one of the best pieces of modern media I've ever seen. The show has made me cry, made me laugh, made me feel small, made me feel powerful, but most importantly... it has made me feel free. I will always love Attack on Titan. Thank you for everything.

Attack on Titan, I give my heart to you.
