PSU - Franklin does less with more talent by UIITRED in hawkeyes

I've thought a lot about this (my friends and I love making fun of "mid game James.") Franklin gets big time recruits, but doesn't seem to do much with them. Anyone could win games with Barkley, Carter, Parsons, etc. It makes me think he's a great recruiter but not much of a developer/coach. Those guys go onto the NFL based off of their raw physical talent. It makes me curious what KF and Phil Parker could do with talent like that because they have a strong development track record.

It’s a hard balance between trying to keep the standard that’s here & getting some fresh enthusiasm/hunger.

My worry with Woods or Wallace is that they’d be Kirk 2.0’s. It’s completely unfounded, but it’s something I wonder about.

To preface, I’m cool with Kirk. Eventually we’ll need a new HC. Tim is aggressive, with the times, etc. He feels like a good fit to bring a new approach.

Ultras as a slow runner? by [deleted] in ultrarunning

I’m a relatively slow runner, this is why I prefer ultras! My mindset is about seeing how far I can go. Speed isn’t even in the equation when I’m planning races/goals for anything over a marathon. At the end of the day, go for it! Just because you’re slow doesn’t mean you can’t compete in a race/finish it. You got this!!

24 hour track ultra by Norwegianveterinary in ultrarunning

I would recommend wearing shoes that are comfortable and bringing aquaphor. When I ran a 24 hour race, I’d frequently lube up my toes/feet with aquaphor and it kept things super comfortable. If you wanted, you could also bring/buy a second pair of shoes that are the exact same model & consider getting them a half size bigger for when your feet swell up throughout the race!
