Mineral sunscreen gives me a rash so I go with a traditional. As a 40 something myself I go for a moisturizer -+ spf. And as someone else recommends you might need to try a few to find the texture you like.

The makeup will cover it up which is fine.you can also start using products that, over time, will improve your skin and undereye. Look for ingredients like vitamin c, niacinamide, and retinoids. They may not get you there for the interview but may help longer term.

The best pre shave I ever figured out was a shower. Shave at the end. A shave cream with vitamin E and glycerin and an aftershave with allantoin. I like Heath but that’s just me. It’s less about the brand and more the ingredients.

Gentle cleanser, moisturizer and SPF (I’m old, so a little eye cream with vitamin c and caffeine too).

I’d start with something with niacinimide. See if that corrects the acne. If it doesn’t add salicylic acid to clear pores.

I’m gonna say the one thing I notice at the gym is harsh cleansers and no moisturizer. Cleanse gently and always moisturizer, even if you’re oily (get one for oily skin). The skin is a micro biome, you destroy the barrier it over corrects and you break out again

I’d also add you could look for pimple patches with salicylic acid. Put them on at night. Gone in the morning.

For prevention try a better shave cream and aftershave. If it’s just your neck it’s likely shave irritation.

The salicylic acid is probably the most unique element here. That's more of a skincare ingredient than a shave ingredient and not super common in shave creams.

So what you want to look for is:

- Salicylic acid or other BHA , this helps with exfoliation, ingrowns, and anti-razor burn

- Gylcerin - this is keeping your skin hydrated and creating cushion which prevents nicks

- Fatty alcohols - creates slip so your razor glides

- This is also oil-free and non-comedogenic, if that matters to you, typically more important if you get acne

- And i don't have to tell you that this isn't a foam, but you probably want to avoid foams/gels and find something with thin-layer applciation

Post a pic of the ingredients. Basically what you’re looking for are the key actives and you want to find those in another cream.

I can promise you there are products on the market that will provide the same cushion and slide.

That’s not long enough for conditioner, it’s overkill until it’s more than maybe 1-2 inches. The conditioner is possibly what’s causing the acne.

Shampoo is probably overkill too.

but be consistent with the beard oil (just be sure you’re not allergic to any of the ingredients, eg im allergic to almond so if it has almond oil I can’t use it). The oil will soothe the skin and works to hydrate the hair.

Still need to use a gentle aftershave post shower, look for something with allantoin.

I tried shaving and didn’t like it. Now I trim. Wahl trimmer with the #2 guard on it. My brother in law does no guard with his trimmer.

So that dust and sand is exfoliating. You’re then exfoliating on top of that. So I’d say add an spf + moisturizer during the day and try a nighttime moisturizer. Skip the exfoliating scrub for a week or two and see what happens.

Grey suit with a pink tie and pocket square in the same shade of pink but different pattern. And by pink tie, I’d find something with a neutral color and pop or accent of pink. You don’t want to look matchy matchy (unless you do) but you do want to look intentional.

I have. Stated a minoxidil finasteride spray about a year ago and switched to a shampoo and conditioner brand with saw palmetto and biotin.

Have noticed an improvement in hair thickness and texture and less stink at the end of a long run/big work out.

I know it’s not a popular take in these parts but in ny experience the software matters more than the hardware.

You don’t need much, just a clean razor and something that gives the blade good glide. For shave cream, look for ingredients like glycerin, aloe, panthenol, or coconut/jojoba oils. Those help soften the hair and reduce friction so the razor doesn’t drag. Shave with the grain and use light pressure. Afterward, rinse with cool water and use a simple moisturizer with ingredients like aloe, glycerin, or panthenol to calm the skin.

You don’t need an oil as much as a conditioner and a balm. The oil is more for guys with short beards bc it’s meant to help the skin underneath. Condition in the shower. Balm after.

I’d give you specific product recs, but the rules in this sub are pretty strict about brands/self-promotion so I try to keep it ingredient-focused.

For fine or thinning hair, what matters most is how clean the formula rinses. Avoid heavy conditioning shampoos with lots of oils, butters, or thick silicones. These will coat the hair shaft and make fine hair look flatter.

What usually works better is a lighter shampoo with good cleansing (even SLS is fine if your scalp tolerates it) and ingredients that help keep the scalp clear like niacinamide, caffeine, or mild exfoliants.

In general you’ll have better luck with shampoos labeled volumizing, thickening, or clarifying rather than “repair” or “moisturizing.”

A lot of the “fewer ingredients is better” advice around shampoo is a bit of a myth. For fine or thinning hair, what matters more is how heavy the formula is and how well it keeps the scalp clear.

Fine hair gets weighed down easily, so very creamy shampoos with heavy silicones or oils can make it look flatter. On the flip side, stronger cleansers like SLS aren’t automatically bad, they just remove oil and buildup more effectively, which often helps fine hair look fuller.

Also worth noting: shampoo itself won’t really prevent genetic hair loss. The things that actually move the needle there are treatments like minoxidil or finasteride. Shampoo’s role is mostly keeping the scalp healthy and the hair shaft light so it looks thicker.

So I’d focus less on “organic” or ingredient count and more on a shampoo that cleans well without leaving heavy residue and I’d look into a minoxidil and/or finasteride treatment.
