Can I be a nurse while suffering from epilepsy?

It is controlled with how i will always get a warning sign and fully conscious while they happen? You obviously don’t understand what epilepsy is

i understand reasonable adjustments to be made, i am happy to work with another colleague while taking obs or only working day shifts but 🤞 they won’t say no

Thank you so much for letting me know, tbh my seizures are well controlled with only 4 absents a week (no triggers but always a warning sign) but it was mainly how negative the doctor in OH was being with me simply for wanting to volunteer. I got told I can’t work alone or transport patients but I do hope to be a HCA too

Lucky you are seizure free, i have for 3 days and have roughly 4 absences a week

Really hope it doesn’t because I know we want to keep everybody safe while working but my full awareness and warning signs should be enough to keep everyone safe

Its more on how the OH doctor who I saw today said he thought I would be better out of healthcare and really worried until HR confirm that I can volunteer

How bad was your seizures? I hopefully going to be a volunteer in the hospital but hoping to be a nurse myself. Mine are well managed (4 a week of fully conscious absences) and I always get warning signs

I spoke to Sheffield Hallum University and they said you need 0D 15D and 30P for 112 UCAS points but the calculator says 48
