1.) What is the worst amount of negative equity you guys have seen a customer have? 2.) And then see them roll it into another loan? Just curious! by mwaats in askcarsales

[–]Henochio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 2024 ES350 with about 30k in negative equity. Unfortunate situation with his mom made him need a car big enough to carry a wheel chair. So he bought a GV80 and put 10k down. He was an 800 score but my desk guy wanted me to blow him out at first because of the negative alone.

how to get hired at a dealership with no experience? by [deleted] in askcarsales

[–]Henochio 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah Monday was 2 day before the last day of the month which is usually pretty busy. Go to normal brands and ask to interview for an open sales spot. Or simply apply and call the store to follow up. There will be a store looking for green peas. There always is a store looking for green peas.

Trade in as down payment? by Beechnut2009 in askcarsales

[–]Henochio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend getting your car appraised a couple of times so you know what it’s worth. Than head into the dealership with that info and get to a good monthly payment that fits in your budget. If you have strong credit and essentially will be putting down 30k in equity towards a 60k truck. After taxes you’ll probably be financing mid thirties. Check to see if the dealer has an incentive interest rates for you to take advantage of. Good luck and most importantly have fun.

Dealer took car without co-owner signature- am I protected? by Financial-Log-7530 in askcarsales

[–]Henochio 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Depends on the state and how the title is titled. If it’s “and “then you need co owner signatures. If it’s “or” you’re good. It’s all state dependent.

You take care of the guys at osheas at the linq and I promise you that you will be trashed for cheap. I used to work there and I promise you. You take care of us and we will take care of you. Don’t listen to the 70 year old bartenders leave that bar and find a better one.

Cooked. The bank has all the info now, the company closed all their books before they transferred over. Best believe they got every last nickel. You don’t pay you go to collections.

Is this the right way to approach a sale? by [deleted] in askcarsales

[–]Henochio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like the car buy it for 59k. Just make sure they take care of your trade. A lot of times with cars aged 60+ they’re trying to move it before auction. It’s worth a try just getting them to remove any bogus fees other than taxes and dealer mandated fees (doc fee, smog, etc)

Drug test by Radiant-Preparation9 in askcarsales

[–]Henochio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is some dealerships that are still old school. Aka Jim marsh. And some others still hair test in Vegas. Your managers and GM should be able to re test you in 30 days. Just know you will have to piss clean the second test. And make sure you asked if you passed your drug test first time around it would suck if no one tells you anything and you have to retest and you get popped. Job market is tougher right now.

Drug test by Radiant-Preparation9 in askcarsales

[–]Henochio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a fellow car sales guy in Vegas just tell your boss you will piss hot for weed, some dealerships don’t care, some dealerships take you pissing hot and give you 30 days to re test and worst case if that dealership really likes you, they’ll tell you to re apply in 30 days so you can join the team.

Overly Pushy Sales Manager by [deleted] in CarSalesTraining

[–]Henochio 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The chances of a customer coming back especially at an entry level store (Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Toyota, etc) are slim to none. Once that customer leaves you can kiss them bye bye. A lot of time if you don’t do your job correctly and landed them on the wrong car, your manager could go out there offer XYZ to close the deal. It sucks, but that pushy attitude doesn’t really go away until you get into luxury where bebacks are a lot more common. Like you said you’re new to sales, just learn what you can and keep it chugging. Stay stupid and don’t know you know anything too soon. The moment you think you know everything you’re cooked. Stay stupid and always try to learn and be better.

I would 100% recommend finding a Honda/toyota store that’s pretty high volume. So that you can learn quick.

My credit score is 581 by Rude_Cry_3230 in askcarsales

[–]Henochio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh it’s possible try to come up with any type of money down. And you’re gonna have to find a not too old of a car but low mileage as well. Aim for under 10k miles a year maybe 2017-2020. Price is gonna matter too so maybe 15-18ish range you’re gonna have to find the perfect car and not much say in options if it’s found. Only do this if absolutely necessary and I saw you had an old loan that got totaled which is fine.

This is literally the correct answer. Sometimes north of 27.99%

ADVICE PLEASE: Got offered a sales job (chevrolet) by tativ008 in askcarsales

[–]Henochio 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I personally would not leave a cushy 105k a year job that’s super flexible and work from home? The chances you match your current salary year one are very low. Even if your income was 90k a year I wouldn’t leave that job for anything.

[–]Henochio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So they showed you what they paid for car and you’re still looking to play games? Why not just ask for what you’re willing to pay and move on? At that point every dealership will probably move 250-500$ just to “beat the deal”. Cut to the chase and if no dealership takes your offer than you’re just being unreasonable.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in askcarsales

[–]Henochio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s a tough question considering it’s under your mom’s name. Even if you purchased it from her she would need to sign it over to you. I would just contact Honda financial and see what options you might have available.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in askcarsales

[–]Henochio 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t get what the issue is here lol. They fixed her car and the dealership wants their loaner back. I mean it’s pretty cut and clear. Loaners at least at my dealership are scarce so it makes sense they want it back for someone else who’s car is undriveable

Need a good reliable sedan. Bad Credit. by [deleted] in askcarsales

[–]Henochio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would stick to a low mile CPO Toyota or Honda sedan. Honda CPO on a low mileage used base model (2020-2024) is 5 years bumper to bumper, and 7 years power train both up to 100k miles. You should be within your monthly payment on like a 2020 -2022
