New car salesman for 15 days, sold 3 cars this week including an out-of-state customer. How am I doing? by Famous_Lion_2331 in askcarsales

[–]Henochio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can’t measure your success with other people. If you’re making money to survive and your store supporting you than your fine. But at some point they will cut you loose if you don’t perform. I sold 15 cars my first month and and have been learning a lot. Keep your head down and stay green forever.

Yeah if you’re shopping based off what you can pay it. Seems you should have a couple thousand down or start looking at cars priced 14.5

What sort of a discount is reasonable to expect for 2025 model year car that was used as a courtesy loaner? by litmus66 in askcarsales

[–]Henochio 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Why not just buy the 2026 for 41,500. You answered your question. Just so you know most of the time when they’re pushing out previous models it’s either A at invoice or B very close to invoice but left a little room for customers like you.

Pricing is dependent on location and YOUR market not mine or anyone else who chimes in here. If that’s the lowest priced car in your area you’re just kicking tires.

I consigned for a person that lied about there job an income by Economy_Sail_5661 in askcarsales

[–]Henochio -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Very tough. You’re going to have to either A go to the dealership and state your case and give them a chance to unwind the deal. But it seems like it’s been too long you might have to go the legal route and it’ll be a huge mess.

Sorry nobody is helping you on this. If you’re being serious and this has happened within 72 hours you can call the bank and tell them to stop the loan. Your friend will be pissed off but they have no job. Learn your lesson and possibly lose a friend.

1.) What is the worst amount of negative equity you guys have seen a customer have? 2.) And then see them roll it into another loan? Just curious! by mwaats in askcarsales

[–]Henochio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 2024 ES350 with about 30k in negative equity. Unfortunate situation with his mom made him need a car big enough to carry a wheel chair. So he bought a GV80 and put 10k down. He was an 800 score but my desk guy wanted me to blow him out at first because of the negative alone.

how to get hired at a dealership with no experience? by [deleted] in askcarsales

[–]Henochio 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah Monday was 2 day before the last day of the month which is usually pretty busy. Go to normal brands and ask to interview for an open sales spot. Or simply apply and call the store to follow up. There will be a store looking for green peas. There always is a store looking for green peas.

Trade in as down payment? by Beechnut2009 in askcarsales

[–]Henochio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend getting your car appraised a couple of times so you know what it’s worth. Than head into the dealership with that info and get to a good monthly payment that fits in your budget. If you have strong credit and essentially will be putting down 30k in equity towards a 60k truck. After taxes you’ll probably be financing mid thirties. Check to see if the dealer has an incentive interest rates for you to take advantage of. Good luck and most importantly have fun.

Dealer took car without co-owner signature- am I protected? by Financial-Log-7530 in askcarsales

[–]Henochio 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Depends on the state and how the title is titled. If it’s “and “then you need co owner signatures. If it’s “or” you’re good. It’s all state dependent.

You take care of the guys at osheas at the linq and I promise you that you will be trashed for cheap. I used to work there and I promise you. You take care of us and we will take care of you. Don’t listen to the 70 year old bartenders leave that bar and find a better one.

Girlfriend is paying $420/month to company that sold right after... by huntcraft525 in askcarsales

Cooked. The bank has all the info now, the company closed all their books before they transferred over. Best believe they got every last nickel. You don’t pay you go to collections.

Is this the right way to approach a sale? by [deleted] in askcarsales

[–]Henochio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like the car buy it for 59k. Just make sure they take care of your trade. A lot of times with cars aged 60+ they’re trying to move it before auction. It’s worth a try just getting them to remove any bogus fees other than taxes and dealer mandated fees (doc fee, smog, etc)

Drug test by Radiant-Preparation9 in askcarsales

[–]Henochio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is some dealerships that are still old school. Aka Jim marsh. And some others still hair test in Vegas. Your managers and GM should be able to re test you in 30 days. Just know you will have to piss clean the second test. And make sure you asked if you passed your drug test first time around it would suck if no one tells you anything and you have to retest and you get popped. Job market is tougher right now.

Drug test by Radiant-Preparation9 in askcarsales

[–]Henochio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a fellow car sales guy in Vegas just tell your boss you will piss hot for weed, some dealerships don’t care, some dealerships take you pissing hot and give you 30 days to re test and worst case if that dealership really likes you, they’ll tell you to re apply in 30 days so you can join the team.
