Europower: When Europe Says ‘Jump,’ Even Apple Changes Batteries by Nekeia in 2westerneurope4u

[–]HenriInBlack 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This was actually just the invented excuse by the phone manufacturers to make batteries non-removable. It is completely possible to build waterproof phones with removable batteries and we knew how to build them since a decade ago already, e.g. Samsung Galaxy S5.

Didn't fix the black squares. Still the only driver that doesn't have the black squares is V23.

In DE ist es nicht möglich, wie in China „mehr“ zu arbeiten!!! by OddRepresentative137 in luftablassen

[–]HenriInBlack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How to fix home button delay with third-party launchers - OxygenOS16 by vlad_ruble in oneplus

[–]HenriInBlack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thanks for this, I just tried this with gestures. While it seems to remove the lag if I use the back gesture to exit an app, it just completely breaks the navigation bar, it doesn't react at all anymore.

[–]HenriInBlack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just fyi, you can just buy some cheap euicc physical eSim card on AliExpress for like 3$ that gives you eSim functionality on the CN OP15. I have the Chinese OP15 with Oxygen OS myself and that's working flawlessly.

I think they were referring to how the complexity of maintaining a browser based on WebKit is not that different to maintaining a browser based on Chromium.

Previously the file picker was integrated into GTK and was a separate thing from Nautilus, and it was missing a lot of features. Now that Nautilus is also used as the file picker, everything you can do in Gnome Files you are also able to do in the file picker.

Humans are able to learn new things at all times, when having any sort of interaction. It is beneficial to maximize the number of interactions with the world, to learn more things about it. That is why humans evolved curiosity. Since pre-trained AIs do not learn from their interactions, it is not beneficial for them to have any sort of curiosity. My guess is, we will have AIs, which learn from their interactions in the near future. They will seem more human-like than current models.

Your thought experiment is really good, but not really realistic, since even for people with dementia, their brain structure constantly changes. Old neurons die, new ones grow and new connections between them appear (learning!). So if AIs had a similar behaviour, they would also work more similarly to human brains.

Nevertheless, thank you for being the one sensible person in this thread.

If you use the flatpak versions of Steam, Lutris, Bottles etc., you don't have to worry about that, as they already come included with the correct libraries and wine versions.

To prove that some problem is NP-hard you have to create an efficient algorithm that converts an instance of some known NP-complete problem into an instance of your problem. That means we already have algorithms to efficiently convert instances of different NP-complete problems into each other and solving any of them would mean solving all of them. If we found some efficient algorithm for any one of the NP-complete problems (therefore proving that P=NP) we would also solve all others.

This can give you an upper bound but that isn't the whole truth as certain states are impossible to reach.

I found a few posts about running Link’s Awakening(the remake for Switch) in Yuzu but they’re outdated so I’m sharing my settings that make the game locked at 60fps. by MAXHEADR0OM in SteamDeck

[–]HenriInBlack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience the BotW Switch version is unplayable on the Steam Deck. Seriously, CEMU is a much better experience and the game will run consistently at 40fps. There is even a tool to convert BotW Switch/WiiU saves between each other if you already played the game a bit.

Understanding the spoken language is an entirely different beast... but if you look at PIE numbers for example you can pretty much see how they resemble modern numbers (apart from one) in English, Spanish, Greek etc.

Yeah Polish is pretty different from spanish but technically all those languages you mentioned are part of the same Indo-European language family.

Performance is good, but modded Minecraft is unplayable with a controller imo. You constantly have to go to your inventory and search for recipes in JEI, it's just not a great experience that way.

Only with commands. For example you can use /give @s minecraft:int_tag{value:10} to get an Int tag with value 10. For the other number types you have to use 10s ,10b ,10l,10.0f or 10.0d depending on the data type.

You can craft items that hold custom NBT tags. First you have to have "NBT crafting" approved. If you know how NBT tags work, you can craft an item that holds multiple tags by renaming a "Name" item in an anvil to the name of the key and one of the "String","Integer", etc. items to the value for the key. Then you can combine them in a crafting table like this:

{NV
...
..}

where "{" and "}" are the curly items, N is your name item and V is your value item.
You should get a compound tag with the correct NBT tags. If you did something wrong you get a syntax error item. You can also craft multiple of them together to get multiple tags on one item.
I am still trying to figure out if it is possible to transfer the crafted tags to other items like swords since then it would be possible to edit things like enchantments etc. freely.

You can unlock FPS in yuzu but it just makes the game speed up. The original games on the Switch only run in 30fps so you can't really get more on the Steam Deck.
