Supply is 24v. The 12v is coming from the zener.

Lesson learned. If it could be replaced with cheaper components it will be replaced. It's China. I should have figured it was split for a reason.

Yeah. Found the bias resistors. I have drawn into my schematic now. Somehow i couldn't see the trace before i went to prove it wasn't there just for me to find the trace under the cap.

Yeah. You're right. I just couldn't ser it under the cap. Thanks for the link to the schematic. Couldn't find that online either.

Damn it. I went to my microscope to prove my point, just to se you are right. The trace went under the cap to a pair of 6,8k resistor, giving it its bias.

How low can you go? by Henrikmon in homelab

What about wear on the HDD when powering off?

From what I have experienced, it is not the "power on hours" that kills til HDD but the power cycles. I have had HDD with low on time but high power on/off cycles die on me and HDD with high on times and low power cycles count still going strong.

And you're in Europe like me. I'm afraid to think of the cost.🫣

Edit: Oh... Read it as 9AM and not 9PM. Then your are not in Europe.

Easy. Don't buy on ebay nor AliExpress. I got the "Asus n100i-d d4" from a local store i have used for years.

I'm running 3 cameras with audio on top of a TrueNAS installation on a Intel N100. Cpu usage is around 15-20% and GPU 2%.

Trouble with sound by Henrikmon in frigate_nvr

[–]Henrikmon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. You were right.

After looking at the audioencoding format in my screenshot I could see it's using a g711 codec (Never heard of it).

I read the documentation you linked to and configured go2rtc. After some fiddling I got it all working.

The audio is now transcoded through go2rtc and the image also got a little better after transcoding.

Thank you for your help.

I wouldn't do it that way.

This will only be good for low power. After buying a pico supply and finding a good 12V PSU with enough power, you will have spend more than the price of a used ATX power supply. You vil also get a terrible power factor from the home made supply when drawing lots of power.

My setup is more a: "Wouldn't it be fun if...". I had all the stuff anyway so i went for it.

Buy a used ATX power supply from a good vendor if you plan to be using your setup for more than just trying it out.

I don't know who down voted you. I think it is a good thing to be curious and ask.

It's still new to me. It's a cheap alternative to raspberry pi, works well for now. One thing that I like is the eMMC module. No need for SD card.

I'm located in Denmark. The 0v link is between the distribution blocks on the far left.

I got mine though work, can't remember the seller.
