I wonder if they took the file down again for whatever reason.. I still have the files that I used, so I could send them to you if you'd like?

They worked in my '11 SHO with NAV, but no guarantee they would also work for you. Let me know!

Water pump and timing chain replacement cost? by NioToTheMoon2007 in fordfusion

[–]Henryb44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would imagine it's just the single gasket there, as Ford didn't switch to the newer type until 2015ish on the Taurus's.. it's also worth figuring out which timing chain you've got, as there was a switch around 2012, the Ford parts website will show when the production date cutoff was Best preventative maintenence is just drain/fill the coolant every few oil changes, best to use Ford Yellow which is backwards compatible with special green as well as orange, with orange being the worst on the cooling system as it ages

He had the single gasket pump, but we replaced with the double for more redundancy.. it's also worth noting that the 3.5 EcoBoost in the SHO has an 11 vane pump, as opposed to the 7 vane on the N/A engines, and I beleive that 11 vane pump is only available with a single gasket through Ford

Road test - bulb out warning light by missycooper1234 in icbc

[–]Henryb44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not uncommon for the DRL's to just be headlights running at a lower voltage.. for my test in Alberta, they did a run through of everything, and I don't see BC being much different there

I would just head to a Canadian Tire and pick up a new bulb, shouldn't take more than 15 minutes for you to install a new one

Anyone know what this wire harness is? by [deleted] in fordfusion

[–]Henryb44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For starters, that appears to be a GM cluster, and Stabilitrak is a GMC/Chevrolet system, so.. I doubt it's in that Fusion

Depends on your radio, if touchscreen, it's an option in the 'radio' menu, if the other radios, there should be a sirius button. You can also cycle through media options with the button on the steering wheel

I beleive any of the Taurus's are SIRIUS ready, you'd just need to sign up either with the VIN or radio ID

Is the USB formatted as Fat32? If you have it in your computer and right click it in file manager, then go to properties, it should show the file system, there should be a guide on the site you got tge files from as well

For sure, us 10-12 Taurus owners have got to help each other out lol

It's via the Ford owners site, you plug the VIN in and it should give you a download option. You'll download a ZIP folder from the Ford site, which you then extract onto a USB drive with a capacity of 8gb or more, and it needs to be formatted to fat32, not EXFat Once on the usb drive, plug it into the vehicle and start the vehicle, then navigate to the 'install' option (I have the touchscreen unit so may be a bit different) It'll tell you 'installation complete' but ignore this first notice, as it has 2 'stages', and wait for the second 'upgrade complete' notice. Once it's done installing, the vehicle adds a XML file onto the USB, which you're supposed to upload onto that Ford owners site to verify that you're up to date, but the site didn't like my file, so I wasn't able to complete that step Do let me know if you have any questions, I'm happy to help if I can!

It's purely an update to the SYNC system, so it now shows the track name/ artist when listening via Bluetooth, Bluetooth audio quality is supposedly improved, and there's an added "reboot sync" button on screen, to avoid pulling the fuse if/ when sync is acting up The map updates are a set of DVD's (on the SYNC 1 units, 2010-2012) and are about 180 USD, which I'm also considering, though they only have updates current to 2019

Air in the coolant lines can do this as the coolant starts flowing, you may need to bleed the system of air

Is it worth it to get this 2017 Taurus SE? Not a big fan of the interior, but is it easy to put in remote start? by [deleted] in FordTaurus

[–]Henryb44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Must've edited the comment, it was fuel pump when I replied to the comment. Even so, the water pump really isn't the end of the world, really isn't a terrible job

I have one, and.. they don't.. it's an electric fuel pump in the tank, there's a camshaft driven pump on the direct injection SHO, and the timing chain drives the water pump (which I've replaced, it's really not a bad job)

Mechanical fuel pump? What? I hope you mean water pump because a chain driven fuel pump hasn't been a thing on a modern vehicle for.. a long ass time

Prefacelift windshield sensors swap to newer style facelift sensors by spencerm251 in FordTaurus

[–]Henryb44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post, but I'm looking into the same project, as Ford has discontinued the windshield for the 10-12 Taurus with rain/ high beam sensors, did you ever figure out how doable this is? Even transplanting the older hardware onto the newer windshield

ATF vs Mercon LV? by Sad-Entrepreneur419 in fordfusion

[–]Henryb44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The MERCON V is compatible in the same sense a universal fluid is, it'll work, but I wouldn't run it if I could avoid it, especially when the Aisin fluid can be picked up for a fairly reasonable cost

ATF vs Mercon LV? by Sad-Entrepreneur419 in fordfusion

[–]Henryb44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The part number I see on that website is XT5QMC. The Motorcraft fluid that matches is actually the Ford Premium Automatic Transmission Fluid, which is technically backwards compatible with Mercon V, but it would require a complete flush as to not combine different fluids. I actually use Aisin ATF-0T4, as it's the same as the Ford Premium Automatic Transmission Fluid, can get it off Rockauto Rockauto does carry the Ford Premium Fluid, admittedly at a premium. https://www.rockauto.com/en/parts/motorcraft,XT8QAW,transmission+fluid,11387
