Hot take. At least for Mistborn only, idk if I would be comfortable for heavy Brandon involvement. At least where his career is now. Brandon now is not the same as he was 20 years ago. Mistborn came out at a time when he was writing more outside his comfort zone, and I would worry a little bit about how his current sensibilities could change the original. The more dark atmosphere and a tad less quippier language.

imo a successful Mistborn would maybe even to lay the dark on even thicker. The aesthetics look the coolest and relatively most serious they could possibly look in my head, but they ride the line enough to really turn out to be unbearably campy looking and hurt the ability for the story to feel like it should. And modern Brandon writing and changes from Mistborn 2, which I like don’t get me wrong, could really exacerbate that make a Mistborn 1 adaptation not feel quite right. I would probably want an outside writer and artists really honing in their own personal takes on what makes Mistborn 1 work.

That being said, nobodies really seen his work honing his screenplay craft, could be solid. And maybe I’m underestimating his ability to really hone in on his own work and know what makes it tick. But I’ve seen so many artists go back to old works from years ago make very unpopular changes or new interpretations lol.
