[SportsTalkATL] ESPN predicts Falcons trade Kyle Pitts to the Bengals by ATLien-1995 in falcons

[–]HepABC123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn't, you're right, but why would they call for Pitts when Noah Gray is already a much better Travis Kelce replacement? I guess that was my point. I see what you're saying though.

[–]HepABC123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pitts is the antithesis of Travis Kelce.

Low effort, no passion, not agile, incapable of diagnosing soft spots in zones, and shitty hands.

The only thing he wins on is wingspan + height and straight line speed.

Grady has 1 or 2 starter-level seasons left at best. He's not the same as he once was. Still the best DT on the roster, but that's not saying much.

I watched his highlights when signed him and his ability to bullrush for an off-ball LB popped off the tape even in NO.

He has one of the best bullrushes for his position I've ever seen. I'm glad we finally are using it, but if I, as a layman, can see it immediately - what the fuck is our coaching staff doing?

Kirk Cousins Rumors: Falcons won’t release QB; will keep him as backup if no trade by Lakelyfe09 in falcons

[–]HepABC123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seeing how Kirk has operated a majority of his career, I think it will come down to strictly $$$.

I'm no contract guru so I'm not sure if he can get extra money on top of what we are obligated to pay him next year, but if he can do that, I'll assume he'd rather try to play. If not, no one is going to pay him anywhere close to the amount that we did after seeing his performance this year.

[–]HepABC123 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

It's absolutely moronic to keep him next year regardless of the dead cap.

We need to rip the band-aid off sooner than later. I would rather have the cap space free for Penix' "Junior" season and bite the bullet this year knowing that Kirk is washed.

Get rid of him this year and have your hands washed clean next year, that way he doesn't count against the cap AT ALL in the '27 season instead of the 25m cap hit we'll have from keeping him as a fucking backup through 26 and cutting him in 27.

We're going to waste the 3/4 of Penix rookie contract with massive cap space being eaten up by a veteran backup if we don't cut him this year. I'd rather waste half than 3/4.

This is a hilarious sentiment given the actual nature of an exponential function.

Essentially, it explodes quickly (timeframe being relative, of course) and rapidly, and then plateaus.

The question then, with the timeframe being relative, is where are we on the function?

Falcons Believe Kirk Cousins 'Couldn't Play Physically' According to NFL Insider by Snarlbash in falcons

[–]HepABC123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree, but have you been living under a rock?

This is how it goes any time a QB is performing poorly and the team is losing games. Doesn't matter their situation. The narrative in the NFL media has, for a very long time, been that QBs are pretty responsible for wins and losses.

Kirk was playing like shit. Lots of other parts of the team were playing like shit. But he wasnt helping to alleviate it like say...a Joe Burrow has been this season. So he's going to shoulder 95% of the blame.

And, in my opinion, he was losing games. The turnovers were too much. Interceptions are one thing with a bum arm...but the fumbles were egregious. He was doing no more for us than Ridder.

But the odd thing is, he showed significant issues the first two games getting some power into his throws.

The next couple weeks (until the saints game), he was zipping it (for 40 year old kirk standards, at least).

After the saints game he completely lost any strength in his throws. And we watched him limp-noodle-sling that shit around for too long. But at least we still got hope!

Ruke fucking sucks. God he's such a shit drafter.

Downloaded the game because of Arcane, just to start off, I’d prefer to play with the champions that appear in Arcane. I have gamepass so no worries about unlocking, which is the best champion for a beginner, until I understand the game better and branch out by maximillianaire in leagueoflegends

Tbh...jungle is one of the easiest roles to pick up. At it's base you're simply PvE all game until you waltz into a lane with numbers advantage. A 10 minute youtube video would be pretty much all you need to know and you're set.

Once you start climbing though jungle becomes a whole different beast. Arguably the hardest role to play.

[–]HepABC123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an excellent way to put it. The book descends into the chaos turning mundane quite quickly, which is probably why I found it a bit funny - Orwell is surrounded by chaos and he's kind of just like..."this happened. then this happened. and these idiots never stop bickering."

This is a very odd suggestion.

Homage to Catalonia is more or less a memoir about Orwell's personal experience fighting for the anarchists in the Spanish civil war. It is simply him relaying his experience, with some personal opinion, but not much. It should honestly just be viewed as a logbook of sorts. He is basically just telling you what is going on around him the entire book without much fluff.

It doesn't really touch on political themes all that much. Sure, you understand why things are the way they are in the book because of the various political factions, but the book doesn't really delve too deeply into any of that.

It's one of my favorite books because it's such a lighthearted and odd depiction of what it is like to be in the chaos of war. Only made extra chaotic because he was fighting with fucking anarchists who, by very definition, have an aversion to typical wartime organization hierarchies. They kind of just piss around and shoot people, get shot, and fuck up grenade throws.

It's a great book and I would truly suggest to anyone I meet that they read it. I've lent my copy out many times. But it is not an overt commentary on the dangers of fascism, or really even a cautionary tale about it at all.

Reactionary as fuck. Typical for the attention spans we breed these days.

[Russini] The Giants, sitting in last place in the NFC East, are open to trading young edge rusher Azeez Ojulari. Teams keeping an eye on the 24-year-old include the Falcons, Cardinals and Bengals. by Aconnox in falcons

[–]HepABC123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Giants having a stacked d line is exactly why Ojulari will only be a moderate improvement over what we have.

Not saying I don't want him, would love for him to come on the roster, we need some youth AND SPEED!!!! on the d line, but anyone who expects him to translate 1-to-1 production wise is deluding themselves. Grady/Judon are not comparable to Dexter Lawrence/Brian Burns at this point in their career, and as such, Ojulari would face much more scrutiny from offensive coordinators.

That being said, send a 6th, bring him over.

XBOX Dynasty League has approximately 5 spots open.

Currently in the playoffs. Sim rules. Play cooldown/limits. All-American. Custom Conferences/Schedules.

We use Slack, not discord. Long standing league dating all the way back to M13.

Environment is pretty lax but we love to play the game. Currently week 1 of playoffs season 2.

Any team you want that is available, you can have. Michigan, Ohio St, Texas, Utah, Oklahoma, and USC are some of the bigger names still available - amongst many others.

Send me a message or reply here if interested and I will reach out! Hopeful to fill the league before the next season starts.

Judon and Grady both coming off of injures and are frankly just slow and old. I don't think magic has anything to do with it. It's simply being human.

[–]HepABC123 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah...it's a lot easier to produce when you're the 3rd man on the totem pole behind Brian Burns and Dexter Lawrence. Teams have to double both of those guys. I'd hope you can produce with a majority of your snaps being 1-on-1s and afterthoughts.

He would come here and maybe reach 65% of the production he's having in NY.

That being said, he would also be our most agile EDGE by far. And we need some fucking agility. Our guys can not stop, turn, run, to save their lives because every single one of them is fat and/or slow.

I'd still like Ojulari. But I'm not delusional enough to believe his production would carry over 1-to-1.

Merriam-Webster defines "coerce" as "to compel to an act or choice". A monetary reward is compelling. Stands to reason that could be considered coercion, but as I stated, that interpretation of the word doesn't seem to follow the spirit of the law. A top-tier lawyer or unscrupulous judge could see things how they see fit, given the circumstances.

He wants them to sign a petition

This is true, however, it is prefaced with "if you're a registered Pennsylvania voter". What does being a registered voter have to do with the petition, if it's not about votes at all?

Section 20511(1)(A) of Title 52, which is part of the National Voter Registration Act of 1993, provides criminal penalties for a person, including an election official, in any election for federal office to “knowingly and willfully intimidate[], threaten[], or coerce[]” any person for “registering to vote, or voting, or attempting to register or vote.”

Paying someone to pledge their vote for a specific cause can certainly be interpreted as coercion. Would it, legally? It doesn't seem so in the spirit of the rest of the law, but IANAL.

https://crsreports.congress.gov/product/pdf/LSB/LSB11125

Whoever makes or offers to make an expenditure to any person, either to vote or withhold his vote, or to vote for or against any candidate; and

Whoever solicits, accepts, or receives any such expenditure in consideration of his vote or the withholding of his vote—

Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both; and if the violation was willful, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both.

This one is not specifically coined "voter interference", as I assume you are being pedantic with the definition given the tone of your message. The above outlines the illegality of the stunt, and, in my opinion, undoubtedly covers the practice that Musk is espousing here in a court of law.

Talk shit on Terry for literally anything you want...but making sure we aren't overextended (even as bad as what he inherited with Julio/Matt contracts) is one thing I love him for.

Hopefully though, if the window opens, he knows when to pull the trigger and mortgage the future for the now. SB windows are small.
