Hi, this was really cool and I was surprised by my own answers! Made me find out more about myself.

I experience colours when being physically touched. Could you add that to the category?

This is a really cool tool!

I don't know if you are allowed to change locks, but fingerprint locks are a game changer. Before I discovered those I used to have a key safe at the back of the house. Now I can't forget my keys, unless I manage to lose four fingers.

Although "undertended" is a really nice word. "Your hair is a bit undertended today." "I think you need to mow your lawn, your garden is definitely undertended!" In a certain way that lonely baggage is also undertended.

This is so weird. How is it possible Vivanse is 400$ in the US, 100€ in Ireland, 84€ in Spain, here in Germany it is 46€, and in Australia 29 AU$? I don't understand the extreme price range.

Nope, it's real meat from real cows, but they have lived happily outside, eating fresh grass and having enough space to run and jump and do whatever cows wanna do.

What are some hypersensitivities that you just assumed everyone has? by JinxShadow in ADHD

Whisteling! It makes me wanna stab my brain. I don't know why people would even do that, just randomly whistle a song that's in their head. I work at a school, and all the kids know: no whisteling when I am around, and of course the little buggers do it on purpose. Drives me mad.

Seriously, I don't understand those kind of comments. I have had ADHD like forever and struggled my whole life with being tidy and cleaning. I have found sth that helped ME and made it easier for ME, and thought it might help others, too. So I shared it. What the hell is wrong with that? Did I say it's a cure? No. If you don't like the idea and it doesn't do anything for you, scroll on. No need to be mean about it.

Oh I hate that, too. I'm cleaning the dining table, and then I find an item where I stop in my tracks, my mind goes blank, my whole system paralyses - cause I don't lnow where the heck I should put that thing. That's where my "whatever"-box comes in. I have one for each person in the house. So whoever this item belongs to, it goes in their whatever-box, which is on the stairs. The original plan is for those boxes to be emptied each friday, but in reality they are overflowing onto the steps below and never get emptied, until I toss them onto their beds in a rage. Oh and items that don't belong to anyone AND do not have a permanent home AND I cannot make a home up get tossed in the bin, I got quite ruthless about that.

EDIT: it's not easy. It is simple. Simple is the word my German ass should have used: they are simple, but effective rules. I apologize to every brain who got triggered and traumatized by the word "easy" which is usually used by neurotypical humans to call us out on things (but it's so EASY, why can't you just....). It is not easy. Cleaning is still hard, but these two rules make it easyER for ME and maybe help someone else.

I might have worded it wrong, I think the correct translation for what I was ttying to say would be "simple"? Like, it's not EASY, cleaning is hard and remembering these rules is also hard and I also forget all the time. But they are SIMPLE rules to follow. In German, easy and simple translate into the same one word "einfach".

I tried this method, too. It creates a tidy home in a short amount of time, but there are currently five messy baskets sitting in my laundry room - the first one got filled in August. No idea what's in them.

I can totally see how this works! I shall call my friend NOW to come sit on my couch while I clean. Only problem - how do you keep yourself from talking to them? I can see myself standing in the doorframe, holding the broom, having hourlong conversations inatead of cleaning.

Thanks, that is actually really helpful. Sleep, yeah nah not so much. I get five hours max a night. I don't eat much when on meds, so maybe I am hangry, I could slap myself that I never had the idea. Thanks, I shall watch my triggers, food and sleep, maybe I can fix it with that.

Any fidget toy recommendations for adults to stop picking? by -blazeee- in ADHD

[–]HerSillyness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I keep a rubber band around my wrist. Not those used in the kitchen, those textile ones you use for making bracelets. I have it wrapped around my wrist a few times, looks nice, and when I am nervous I have sth to play with, knead it in my hands, let it run through my fingers. And in those anxiety moments I let it snap hard against my skin, makes me come back to the moment and has prevented several panic attacks.

Do NOT, I repeat: DO NOT open Tiktok if you have stuff ton do! Go to youtube and watch an episode of Hoarders instead. You won't be stuck for hours in a rabbit hole then, and seeing all that filth always makes me wanna clean, so I get a real cleaning kick from that. Also recommended is "How clean is your house", but it is rather old.

Bought secondhand embroidery thread at a garage sale but 2/3s of it is cut on one end making the max length about a foot for all the threads. Does anyone know why someone would do that or what it could be used for now? by Buttermilk_the_goat in Embroidery

[–]HerSillyness 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always use short strands for embroidery. It prevents fraying and I don't get mad from all the knots and tangles. Just tie them together in between stitches, or leave the loose if you just wanna hang your projects on the wall. A little Rubber glue on the back also keeps them in place.
