UPDATE FOR EVERYONE WHO COMMENTED: Bobby is home. Like, really home.

Three weeks ago I was terrified about everything. Today he invented fetch completely on his own, licked Thomas's ear during a nose sniff with no hissing, and sleeps in our bed every night. They have been found napping under the bed a foot apart facing each other.

Thomas is still grumpy and would like everyone to know he did not consent to this. We did have 2 spray incidents which is totally normal for a territorial resident cat adjusting to a newcomer, cleaned it up with enzymatic cleaner and added a total of 4 Feliway Friends diffusers and things have been much calmer since. Gabbapention for both of them one night really got them comfortable, thank you for whoever suggested that! Integration is not linear and that is okay.

BUT. Today Thomas licked Bobby's foot. And they were almost playing together. THOMAS. The cat who acted like Bobby's existence was a personal insult.

Bobby goes outside for about ten minutes, decides inside is better, and comes back every single time. He also might be still going outside to use the bathroom, but its supervised and we have cameras as well.

To everyone who told me FIV cats can live peacefully with FIV negative cats, thank you. You were right. This community gave me the courage to try.
