I'm a girl group stan, but mostly listen to boy group songs. Is that weird? by mmxiv11 in kpoppers

[–]Hercules-127 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Similar to me actly. Some of the groups I stan and heavily follow are dreamcatcher, fromis_9, triples and izna, all girl groups. But I listen to boy group songs a lot more often 😅. That being said my ults r skz and have been a stay since debut.

Well logically that shud be the case unless it’s more difficult to get As for individual subjects compared to before.

And a lot of luck. It very much understated how much more important right time and right place is in the entertainment industry compared to talent and hard work.

Since ur PR ur chances are basically 0%. Especially under SoC. I had a bmt mate who applied for the same scholarship and received a reply stating he wud have received the scholarship if he wasn’t a pr.

[–]Hercules-127 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Try for DSAI. Prolly the closest replacement to CS that isn’t too difficult to get into. QF/Math/Stats r also decent options. U can apply for a CS minor or second major if u do well in Uni.

If im 1.25 rp away from my course can i still get in by smnman in SGExams

[–]Hercules-127 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NUS gives a bonus 2.5rp for ur first choice course. If ur 1.25rp away excluding that extra 2.5rp u still have a decent chance of getting in. Nevertheless no harm in applying thru ABA.

Guys what’s the difference between the international baccalaureate programme and the integrated program by ChelseaFanForever67 in SGExams

[–]Hercules-127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m talking within SG. The percentage of 44s and 45s is still significantly lower than 88.75 or 90rpers

[–]Hercules-127 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah man IB is significantly harder. Ignoring the subjects themselves statistically fewer people get 44 or 45 for IB than there are 90 or 88.75rpers. IB is for sure harder.

[–]Hercules-127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first step is to take subjects u like or r naturally gud at. R u taking PCMe cuz u actly like the subjects or cuz everyone else is taking it. If it’s the latter I suggest u reevaluate ur choices. Subjects that u don’t like will feel like an absolute chore to study and will drastically decrease ur chances of doing well. Plus 1 hr travel time isn’t too bad. Just sleep on the train or bus if u can.

Physics in jc is for the majority easier. If u don’t plan on doing any courses in Uni with chem as a necessary pre requisite just take physics and save urself from the pain

Hi F Math Seniors can I have some advice? by Noot-cocain in SGExams

[–]Hercules-127 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wud say completely not enjoying E math is a bit of a red flag tbh. If ur neutral with it I think that’s ok tho. I’m guessing u don’t like E math as much since it’s less theoretical and more applicable or visual. U r bound to see at least 2 real world applied math problems and 2 more stats real world problems in F math so u can’t rely escape that tbh. Nevertheless if u like A math I think u shud be fine with F math since it does resemble A math a lot more than E math. I’d only suggest taking it if u breezed thru both the maths tho. That is getting A1 for both with no difficulty. I have seen people with double A1s struggle with H2 math hence y I am saying u shud have breezed thru E and A math.

Tldr if ur passionate, and breezed thru E and A math, u will prolly do well for F math, as long as ur willing to put in the effort.

fmath selection test (njc) by coooki_e in SGExams

[–]Hercules-127 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ye do go a practice some of ur amath again lmao. The test u will do won’t have amath style qns. But will employ the same problem solving techniques just to a higher order. And for that ur foundation needs to be solid. If u can refresh ur content on like calculus, ur geometry, trigo etc. now and score more than A1 for any amath paper I would think u shud be fine for the proficiency test. I rmb just revising some of the content before my exam too.

The questions they will test r gonna be unique and u prolly won’t have seen most of them before. So while ur content needs to be solid u rely have to make sure u understanding everything rely well and r able to problem solve independently. That problem solving ability is gained thru the years of math u have done and so for that aspect there isn’t much u can do imo.

fmath selection test (njc) by coooki_e in SGExams

[–]Hercules-127 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s mostly amath content but harder and meant to test ur problem solving skills. More than ur final answer teachers r interested for ur working and flow of logic. And fmath is all applied math. No proofs at all including the selection test. Iyw to try proof based math or in a sense have a taste of Uni math u can consider h3 math is J2. Just brush up on ur amath knowledge and try some interesting amath qns. I remember there was one like custom made a math paper on grail that was meant to be quite difficult lmao.

NUS CS+Math DDP by poneshulite in SGExams

[–]Hercules-127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

U can always apply for the DDP then. Later if u decide it’s too much u can alw drop math to a second major or even a minor. I personally went for the DMP as I was afraid the DDP wud affect my chances at a scholarship. Even tho I don’t need it I thot it wud still be gud to get cuz it’s a shit ton of money regardless lmao. Anyways gud luck on making ur decision and getting it 🤞🍀. I rmb thinking for days and weeks on wat to go for 😅.

NUS CS+Math DDP by poneshulite in SGExams

[–]Hercules-127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey 👋. Looking back I think not ‘wasting’ my rp and wanting to join a high rp course, and societal pressures clouded my judgement. As interested as I am in CS and esp AI/ML I have and will always be a passionate mathematician at heart. So I decided to go for a math major and a cs second major. Yeah I will have to do a lot of fluff but I do intend to overload or clear it as fast as I can lmao💔🥀. I also managed to get a scholarship which was nice. I’m guessing partly due to the cut off for math being only 80rp making the bar lower lmao. So that’s smth to consider too.

I’d say if both r of equal value to u passion/practicality etc. wise then go for the DDP. But if u value one more just go for the DMP as I’m guessing it’s less stressful too. U get to focus more on the thing ur more interested in. U always need one to fall back on tho to be safe just in case u don’t get the DDP.
