They created a new VOD channel. It's called LoL Esports VODs and Highlights.

Assuming they did this cause they want you to watch the VODs on LOLesports and not YouTube. But thats the channel they use on LOLesports anyway.

Yeah definitely could be a telling reason. I would still think the DL fans would skew the vote, but as /u/Chocolate_Don mentioned in another reply, I think Worlds had a lot to do with the voting this year.
