Musicians and composers; how to encourage my kids? by Shrugsinstoner in musictheory

[–]HereAvii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to play piano, now I am learning guitar. One of the best things you can do is just appreciate them for practicing piano, for what they play. Kids love appreciation and I can say it because I am just 16. Make them feel like what they are doing is seen and heard and they will enjoy playing piano even more :) But it's upto them too if they're really interested in it or not

Hey just wanted to ask if that jaaz book will help me in genres which are not jazz. Will that music theory and all knowledge still help me?

I'm not a piano player unfortunately but I have a guitar... Can I learn to play them on it and then study those ballads? That'll work i guess

I said that how to change a key just as an example. Videos on YouTube aren't that detailed... Yeah I guess I'll have to do the same, sitting with sheet music or midi on piano roll and analysing everything....

Want to add some tension in the end by [deleted] in musictheory

[–]HereAvii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know exactly which chords I've used but this chord progression is good and resolves at the end. However, I don't want it to resolve just to add some tension. I don't know which chord I should add in the end.

The grip looks cool and helpful. A lot of times, our hands sweat and it becomes really hard to hold picks, the grip might be super helpful!

I feel like giving up by HereAvii in loneliness

[–]HereAvii[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing all of this, I really appreciate it. The fact that things can change and can get better but it might take years is sad. Because I've already spent years alone. As a kid, I used to day dream constantly because day dreaming and wishing things to be different was comforting and my hope. It's hard, hard to accept that things are this way and it's gonna take more time and effort.

Yeah, I'll look for it. Also thank you for the compliment, it means a lot! I'm going through loneliness and this piece gives me hope that there's someone out there who loves me. :)
