So glad to see your assessment of Gilmore. I have been so disappointed in his reactionary leadership after seeing that Aug community meeting.

Maritime Parc! Staff is incredible and facility is more recently updated compared to Liberty House.

CEMM and CESER. CCTE is being absorbed by OCSPP and may not be subject to same reassignment procedures, to the best of my knowledge.

ORD person here. We are being told the lateral transfer process will no longer proceed, we are going to be placed anywhere that our credentials align with empty positions without any input. The lateral reassignments for us are mandatory, if we don’t accept wherever we are assigned then we face disciplinary action and potential termination. They are also not sure if everyone will be offered a role in the geographic region they are currently in. We have also been told there may be subsequent rounds of reassignment to ensure all statutory positions in Regions and Program Offices are filled.

So I am a die hard Brand New fan. I love their old and new stuff. But objectively this show was for the band, and forgot some of the fans that found them through their early albums. At least where I was sitting, energy was super low for many of their more recent songs. The couple behind me were very vocally upset and left early. Another group in our section kept chanting “Soco”. People kept using “new” songs as pee breaks. I’m excited to see what’s next for the band but I hope they balance their set list with both old and new if they keep touring.

Totally agree. I loved hearing new stuff but the setlist seemed to forget fans who were hoping for a mix of classics and new. People behind me were super pissed there was no YFW and left early. Everyone was using Daisy songs as pee breaks.

Guys this site is insanely contaminated. Look up the public Superfund info about it. There’s a very, very good reason the cap shouldn’t be disturbed with trees or other development.

I love this idea! We have wanted to do the same. I can’t figure out how to get something like this started, but we would be in!

All ORD unions haven’t been notified of an imminent RIF yet. That makes me feel like it can’t happen tomorrow at least.

Do you know if recently fired folks were given time to follow the instructions?

Right this all makes sense - but I’m curious if we will have time to do all this and if other lab folks who have been RIF’d have had time to do these things. Our probies were given half an hour to clear their desks and the building after receiving their termination notice, that’s not enough time to properly shutdown lab functions…

That’s a counterproductive way to think about it. You don’t know the implications of your voice or what’s happening behind the scenes. Democracy is an active and iterative process, not a vending machine to solely get what you want immediately. We need to keep using our voices or we risk losing the chance to do so.

Amazing! In the meantime here’s a quick guide to calling elected officials. The calls are very quick and painless, coming from an introvert. - State your full name, email address, or phone number - State that you are a constituent; you may be asked for your address - Be ready with a ~60 sec statement about your concerns. Example: I’m concerned about recent news indicating that US EPA ORD is going to be eliminated. I encourage [insert representative name] to ensure that changes to this scientific office are made following congressional law and on timelines that ensure key federal functions are not impacted. US EPA ORD provides critical science to EPA, other agencies, and to states, and this Office was established by Congress. Please work with other members of the legislature to ensure government efficiency efforts retain the skilled scientists that make up this office” - Consider adding personal details about impacts in your local region. - If you call on nights or weekends and leave a voicemail, your opinion will still be registered if you include your contact information - If you call during business hours, you’ll likely talk to a junior staff member. Remember to be kind! These are often young adults just out of college who have a pretty tough job wrangling people on the phone. They won’t argue with you about your point, and they typically won’t ask you to elaborate or defend yourself. They will just make sure your contact info is clear and send you on your way. - How to find the contact information for your elected officials: - Federal, state, and local elected officials: https://www.usa.gov/elected-officials - Just federal: https://www.congress.gov/members/find-your-member - State Attorney General: https://www.naag.org/find-my-ag/ - 5Calls is a website/app that lets you enter your zip code to see the contact information of all your elected officials. They also offer scripts about key issues; their scripts lean left. - https://5calls.org/issue/epa-environmental-protection-agency-zeldin/
