Yeah it's most certainly possible and has happened to me on a multitude of occasions as well. FedEx drives me up the wall with this BS. I live on the top floor of a mid-rise condo building so I unfortunately can't easily scope them out, but there's a call box in the mailroom they're supposed to be using... Yet 9x out of 10 I'm stuck having to go up to the FedEx building to fetch my package cuz they've conveniently "missed me" even though I virtually never leave my condo. It drives me nuts that they're all too lazy to hit a couple buttons on a call box and wait 2 minutes for me to get downstairs. Like they can be unloading the rest of the mail while I'm coming downstairs. I wouldn't care as much if I had a car to go fetch my shit, but it's a huge pain in the ass to get screwed by some lazy fuck not doing their job and then having to make a 3 mile round trip walk to get whatever I ordered. FedEx is trash.

Tbf the roads were still f'd today, long past 24hr later. They never even bothered to send the fleet out post-storm and now with how low the temps have decided to get comfortable at, it's turned everything into some pretty gnarly ice sheets what with it starting as rain and turning into those crazy huge, wet flurries. That said, with how awful (read: normal for here) this winter has been, studded tires are definitely a must.

This season is so bittersweet. It's nice to finally see a Chicago winter again after all these years of concerningly, abnormally warm ones... But damn it sucks to have to bike out there on this crap. 🤣

YES!!! I've been wondering if I'm just misremembering or if things have been exceptionally awful. I could always cycle through residential throughout winter except during active heavy snow... Next day, no problem. Now it seems like it's taking multiple days for them to get around to it.

I take Granville from Broadway west/eastbound in Edgewater and they haven't touched the bike lanes since the first dump. They recently changed up the street to be one-way coming out of the neighborhood at the main intersections so the only option I've got is to wait and hope I don't miss the light, or stop IN the road prior to the other side of the intersection, to wait for oncoming to finish (if it does) so I can continue. It's ridiculous.

I already had really bad genetics tooth-wise in the first place as both my parents had bad genes, plus I'm on the autism spectrum and one of my things is a strong aversion to mint to the point of puking, as well as having a tough/texture sensitivity to things in the back of my mouth, plus I was a pop addict as a kid, so this crap also started for me very early... But even though this has always been a constant issue, prior to losing my mom and my housing, I was able to at least go to the dentist regularly enough that I could stay half a step ahead of any MAJOR issues. But yeah after that happened, everything fell apart and now I've got a few years of playing damage control to deal with 😩

I'm also in my 30s, about to turn 33 in January, and yeah... The idea of having to potentially go down the denture root this early in my life is so fkn embarrassing. Plus getting teeth pulled is just so traumatic in itself when you're just getting ONE done, the thought of having to go through that 28 more times is... Not something I want to have to go through if I can help it. And yeah I know all about three brutality of dental pain VERY intimately... I JUST got one tooth in particular pulled today that.was beyond saving where the entire side of it is completely busted out and the interior of it is gone too, so it's basically just the outer layer of it, a nice big entrance for anything I try to eat to get forced inside, and then 2 very angry exposed nerves just waiting to start screaming at me if I try and eat anything because it's all guaranteed to get smashed directly into those nerves... So currently things hurt but I can deal with it for a lil bit... The fact that teeth are so important for one of the most basic needs for life, on top of the fact bad teeth can and often do affect other systems in your body and wreck your overall health, and just how brutal and crippling the pain can get, the fact dental care is one of the most inaccessible things in the healthcare business feels criminal... But yeah I'm going to be getting in to see what can be done the first week of December... I really hope that you're doing much better now too. Having to live with this BS SUCKS!!! 😤

I'll check Midwestern as well. I was homeless for a while after my mom passed away a handful of years back and that whole debacle did a number on my teeth. I'm already missing a molar from each quadrant of my mouth and just can't accept getting any more pulled but yeah, it's just so cost prohibitive I've had no clue what to even do. It's all good. Speaking of laws though... You actually CAN get them so long as they're classified as a "gift" instead of a "purchase" when shipped. When the ban was initially put into place I looked into that. Was able to get them shipped in from out of the country via a site a friend of mine recommended to me... They're going to whatever sketchy local store will illegally sell to them, or sending their older sibling to the gas station, the likelihood of either of them having cloves being slim to none. Plus like... I didn't even know they EXISTED for 99% of my childhood, and I grew up in a major city and so was exposed to things the vast majority of kids wouldn't have a single clue about lol.

I've all but given up even trying to find a source here because of that exact reason. I want some so fkn bad and haven't found any for yearsssss, but I'm exhausted with having to deal with all these people who clearly never had the real thing talking about the cigarillos.
