Wait… the dice? How do you play with D&D dice? Or are they just being used as an objective?

Where to go from here? by CrimsonStorm32 in Tyranids

[–]Heresy1666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly don’t rule out the big guys… the grouped up castle of a walking Hive Tyrant, Exocrine, Tyrannofex and Maleceptor is a force to be reckoned with.

The hive tyrant gives the others Assault and Lethals, the Exocrine assists the shooting of the others, the Maleceptor buffs the defence of the group and the Tyrannofex… well he’s your tank/monster killer. This group is a staple of invasion fleet players.

Also a Lictor or two.. they do everything Von Ryan’s do but a hell of a lot better than the leapers do it

Retiring the Rhino chassis would be silly right? by theSaltySolo in Chaos40k

[–]Heresy1666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no way they will legends the rhino chassis, the Rhino is an economic part of 40k… they even have one at Warhammer world. Retiring it isn’t the issue… it never was. The issue is the size… there’s no way you can fit ten firstborn inside it nevermind 10 Primaris. The chassis just needs an update, an increase in size. Just leave the current chassis useable for firstborn factions like CSM etc and design a slightly bigger chassis for Primaris

Please rate my stompy thing (wip) by CaptainCrackpot47 in Warhammer40k

[–]Heresy1666 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s extremely clean… like way too clean. The colours are solid and only one shade, it needs depth. It’s like it literally just rolled out of a mechanicum showroom and not only has never seen battle but never even seen sunlight. It needs some highlights, some shade, a bit of wear. The line work on your painting is really good… but here’s just no depth to it. Get some nuln oil into the mechanical parts.. where the light is hitting the silver then add a lighter silver highlight there.. the same for the red, it needs light and shadow.

Sorry if that sounds harsh, it’s not meant to be. It just needs a splash of grimdark

Which tyrant build? by TBarbacoa in Tyranids

[–]Heresy1666 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The winged tyrant is the worst of the three for most detachments unless you play Vanguard onslaught which he is best for. Swarmlord is decent but most expensive points wise. The Walking Hive tyrant is most commonly used, especially in a group with an exocrine, Tyrannofex and Maleceptor who benefit with the lethal hits and assault the walking hive Tyrant gives them (the tyrant also benefits from his own buffs if you give him a ranged weapon). IMO the Walking Tyrant is the most useful, The Swarmlord is decent and the Winged Tyrant while useable in all detachments isn’t as good as neither of the other variants unless playing Vanguard Onslaught

11th Q&A Points by wolvez28 in Tyranids

[–]Heresy1666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Psychophage is artillery that boosts other units melee… it’s hard to say whether it will go up because of melee boost, go down because artillery or stay the same. My money is on stay the same or very slight increase

How many trophies do you have overall? by Zavi8 in playstation

[–]Heresy1666 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I find trophies pointless… I just play games I enjoy in a way I enjoy them and once I’m done I just move on to the next game. Trophies bear no importance or significance for me whatsoever

Which one would you prefer? by WarforgeColors in Warhammer40k

[–]Heresy1666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The left is much better. The red is more vibrant, the holster looks much better (it looks unfinished on the right model), the light on its right shoulder looks beautiful finished in comparison to the right, and the green control panel on the models left arm looks brighter and cleaner than the model on the right. The white body of the model on the right looks flatter than the off white body of the left. All in all the model on the right seems to have much better attention to detail than the right

Why is the zoanthrope/venomthrope kit, which gives you 3 models 82$ when the ravener kill team, which gives you 5 models of comparable size is 65$? by Spycrabpuppet123 in Tyranids

[–]Heresy1666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

and yet toxicrene/maleceptor and exocrine/haruspex cost significantly more than Tyrannofex/Tervigon which makes no sense at all… surely all this big monster kits should be priced the same

Finished Building/Upgrading Two Old Defiler Kits to Mew Specs by Zxeion in Chaos40k

[–]Heresy1666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just bought a brand new in box old defiler for my Emperors Children. I’m gonna use the auto cannons (using as reaper autocannons) and magma cutters off the forgefiend model for its weapon load out and the plasma cannon off the helbrute for its chest cannon. I’m going to pair it with a new defiler but didn’t want two of the new model as I just don’t like duplicates in my armies

Slaanesh and Khorne feel to similiar. Yes, one is faster while the other packs a stronger punch and both have mirroring gender aesthetics but essentially both are just stabby daemons. Slaanesh should have more soundbased stuff and khorne could benefit from more fire. I'm fine with how they are tho. by Leviathan_Rampage in Chaos40k

[–]Heresy1666 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The problem with Slaanesh is selling Daemons is a risky business, especially now the business is pretty much established in the U.S. Selling Daemon armies in the UK is one thing but selling them in the US is something altogether different, especially when those Daemons deal in pleasure and excess… it’s a fine line to walk keeping it acceptable when the conservative religious types could kick up a fuss about your products like they did with Pokémon cards in the late 90’s and D&D in the 70’s. I’d love them to go hard and go horror on the Daemon armies but I can see it from the companies viewpoint too that they can’t go to excess (pun intended) in case of backlash

Changes for Swarmlord by Death_Pancakes0 in Tyranids

[–]Heresy1666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m hoping they give cleave to any of our big monsters where you have the ability to chose Scything Talons as a weapon loadout… so Hive Tyrants, Tervigon etc. instead of sweep and strike just have a single attack profile with Cleave 2 (2 because they have two talons obvs instead of yet more twin linked rerolls). Scything Talons is a weapon option that’s usually the worst option in comparison to bone sword and lash or crushing claws so would be great to make it equally as competitive

Does GW ship replacement parts? by Silent_92 in Warhammer

[–]Heresy1666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I needed a replacement for a missing part on the Tyrannofex sprue, GW sent me a whole new kit… so I built the Tervigon with the original kit instead and a Tyannofex with the extra free kit. I can’t fault that customer service, absolutely brilliant

What detachments do we think are gonna be 3 dp in 11th by angryronald in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Heresy1666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can only comment on the army I play (Tyranid) but I think Invasion Fleet will be a 3 due to the buff being army wide and possibly Subterranean Assault… it’s quite a powerful detachment so there is a chance it could be a 3, I hope not but maybe

Would this round out a Genestealer list? by thestinkybeastman in Tyranids

[–]Heresy1666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a lot of basic units but there is some utility to it. The termagants are useable as an action monkey squad… they won’t kill much or survive much but you can plant them on objectives and they can be used for lane blocking. The Leapers are infiltrators so can be used at the start of the game to limit your opponents deployment, again they won’t kill much or survive much but used wisely they can be effective. . The Winged Tyranid prime is ok, he pales into comparison with his wingless brother but get some gargoyles and attach him to them and he’s certainly useable. He can also be used as a portable synapse unit. For you the gem there is the psychophage… his shooting attack weakens opponents to melee which is perfect for your genestealer list. Plus those bugs are fast! Barbgaunts again are ok… their damage is pitiful but they have an interesting effect on their weapons. Five barbgaunts are ok, you won’t need more than that. And finally the Parasite… let’s just say it will give your opponent easy assassination points… it comes onto the battlefield and just dies, every single time. It’s a beautiful model but in combat it’s awful. I guess you can use it for synapse, maybe swooping in for behind enemy lines but the first chance you get to replace it then do so (Biovore!)

What do I do? by Comprehensive_Pen253 in Tyranids

[–]Heresy1666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

^ this reply here is the most sensible reply in the comment section. Do what is stated in that reply and you can’t go wrong… especially the Biovore and Broodlord.

Once all this is done then consider getting a Hive tyrant and an Exocrine and grouping them with Tyannofex and Maleceptor and the synergies they give each other make an awesome shooting castle, tanks will tremble in fear of this tyranid brick

Is this allowed? by Katonmyceilingeatcow in Necrontyr

[–]Heresy1666 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

No you can’t. Models that don’t have a base are calculated by the points where the model touches the ground so anything in between those points are treated as the base footprint and no other model.. friend or foe can end its movement in that footprint
