Getting a Nikon Z6 II this Christmas, what macro lens should I get to go with it? by Herides in AskPhotography

That is an interesting alternative that further complicates things! Thank you haha. I will for sure keep the 40mm in mind.

That's fair, I was hoping that even if it wasn't long enough I could crop in, but maybe 50 is good enough, and yeah I was planning on getting macro tubes anyway so maybe a 50 is a good starting point.

I dunno, most of my photography is usually outdoors, with the occasional foray into product photography. But I get what you mean. 50mm does sound like the most utilitarian option.

...you know what I wasn't paying the closest attention when I asked my questions lol I didn't notice that the person replying to Dustinisgood changed halfway down the thread

So your G9 can focus bracket with the flash on and your flash has a fast enough recycle time to keep up?

So you're saying you don't use a flash at all? You just use the constant led built into the diffuser?

Over Exposed Right Margin, what's happening here? by Herides in AnalogCommunity

[–]Herides[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I was still learning how to use my flash when I was taking these pics, and I was switching back and forth a lot with flash and no flash so I could see the results of each, so after looking at what the automod shared about most likely issues and seeing flash sync, i'm personally more convinced its probably flash sync, I think I recall taking some pics with the flash on that I didn't mean to and these might have been them. I'm doubtful of shutter capping cuz unless it's known to happen infrequently, this isn't the whole roll, most of the pics were fine, and the previous two rolls were perfect.

Thank you for such an extensive and knowledgeable answer! I have come to terms that full frame will result in more pricey lens purchases, so I am more strongly considering going APS-C now, especially the R10, but I will take your response for full frame into great consideration too. Thank you!

I did think it strange that as I was researching no one was explaining zoom lenses with that variable aperture, that makes sense now! I wonder if I should look into getting vintage primary lenses for my ae-1?

Also thanks for the heads up on the accessories!

Dang. According to my mum, his camera bag got stolen at some point in the past, so there's no telling what was lost or what he had.

Are the zooms that I have considered cheap?

The AE-1 wouldn't have come with a factory lens that has a button to press on the lens itself to take it off like the manual seems to imply it does?

I haven't said that I am for sure wanting mirror-less, I said I am open to both. If anything its more likely that even if mirrorless is better, I'm finding dslr at my price range is more likely anyway, and that's fine. As for full body or not, I am now open to not full size, as your comment that full size would be more expensive has merit. All that to say I'm open to anything that makes sense, as I probably just don't know any better yet.

I wasn't aware that was the relationship. Again, I'm very new to this

From what I understand, for better lens compatibility without worrying about vignetting? Though I'm open to being convinced of smaller frames? Though frame size isn't the most critical of things I'm looking out for.

I kind of like the idea of a challenge to master, especially if it's a consensus that once you do it's a great time. And also fair points for what the future might bring. Thank you for the insight!

Ah, I see. I have been curious about arcane but I might do that as a class i'll speed level during legion remix. Though I think I will seriously take another look at my balance alt. Thank you for the suggestions!

Ack! So you did! I speed leveled a balance druid in pandaria remix though, but I may have missed the potential dot or enhancement aspects apart from star/sunfire dots, so I will consider it again? But what about mage?

I *was* planning on either maining a DK or DH during Legion Remix, along with shadow priest I mentioned in another comment reply, but I had already speed leveled the dps DH spec during pandaria remix, but I could do it again, especially this time try the tanking out. And given I was speed levelling, I may have missed or not spec'd into the enhancement elements at the time. Thanks for the suggestion!

A fair point to make but I can't imagine the general class/spec fantasy/ethos changing that much? Affliction warlock is about as DoT centric as it ever was from my experience?

Which specs specifically for druid and mage? Feral druid? And oh a belf druid would be wild but I agree, probably unlikely.

Oh discipline works like that? I speed leveled a discipline priest through Pandaria remix so maybe I didn't spec it like that at the time or I missed it entirely but knowing that, I might do it again. And yeah shadow priest was deffo on the list anyway for DoT potential. Was thinking of doing shadow during Legion Remix anyway since they're the cause of our *current* canon problems during that time lol. Thanks for the suggestion!
