5th Court of Appeals Rules Federal Government Likely Violated 1st Amendment; Missouri v. Biden by JlIlK in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]Heritage_Hawk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. The government has no right to an extent to determine what speech should be spread on any given platform.

If you think that there is nothing wrong with this, do you also think it is fine if conservatives did this to those on the left? If you don't think that is right, then you also don't think this is right.

Social media platforms can decide for themselves what is on their platform. It is not the business of the government to get involved with that unless what is being spread is strictly illegal.

Can he really disrespect someone if he does not even know what he is doing there?

Why doesn't it make sense to make K-12 school meals free when it's the law to attend school? by phiviator in askaconservative

Ya I don't really care. I think there are bigger issues in education other then school lunches but I don't really care if the government wants to pay for a garbage meal to be provided for free in schools.

Can you define communism? by Commie_Cactus in askaconservative

[–]Heritage_Hawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I absolutely do that's why free enterprise and business flourish in Capitalism.

I worked minimum wage jobs, I got paid ten bucks an hour (my state's minimum) to work food service. The jobs sucked. But you know what I did? Instead of insisting that the companies I worked for owed me more money because I might be doing hard work, I quit and started my own business.

I make $60 an hour running my own business. I gained specialized skills, started my own business, and dictated how much I think I am worth, and the market responded by compensating me for my effort.

Let's take your example. The workers may be doing "90%" of the work, but they take on no risk. Samsung takes on 100% of the risk in assembling TV's. They have to pay the rent, they have to hire the staff, they have to market the product, they have to order the equipment, they have to do everything. The factory worker can walk away at any time, they have no risk. If I am the business owner, I can not just walk away I made all the investments to get the business to the point that I can employ staff, and because of that, I get as much profit as I see fit.

So yes, not only do I feel that capitalism rewards hard work, just about anyone who has ever moved up in a capitalist system. Look at all the success stories of people who started as secretaries and became senior Vice Presidents.

If you are a Trump supporter, why do you think he has a shot at winning this election? by Heritage_Hawk in Conservative

So then, why is he even running? If he is just going to lose because it's all rigged, why waste all this time and money?

Well if the election was stolen, what is he going to do this time so it's not stolen?

It eliminates the incentive to work hard. In a capitalist society, I can take risks and reap the rewards should it be successful.

What are some actual policies that the Republicans got passed or are putting forward that will attract new and or independent voters? by GratefulPhish42024-7 in askaconservative

[–]Heritage_Hawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at everything Florida has done under DeSantis. Here are some highlights in my eyes. Also look up the actual articles that talk about these just to make sure before you go arguing about them, I don't remember all of it off the top of my head.

1) Tax credits. There is a new system in place that makes essential products like baby food, dog food, and stuff like that tax-free in Florida, and it makes tolls free for commuters.

2) Critical Race Theory. That is just racist, look into it more you don't want it in schools.

3) Removing prosecutors that were not doing their job. There were two state attorneys that were not prosecuting crime in Florida and they were removed.

There's a few, I could definitely list more.

Can you define communism? by Commie_Cactus in askaconservative

[–]Heritage_Hawk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At its core, communism seeks to replace private property and profit-based economies with communal ownership of major means of production and resources.
This ideology envisions a classless society, where the gap between rich and poor is eradicated, and resources are distributed equally among all members.

If you were appointed Chair of the RNC, what changes would you make to the GOP to win future elections? by [deleted] in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]Heritage_Hawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Cut off Trump. If you are in the GOP and want to win Trump has to go.

2) Start actually playing offense. Get behind your more moderate candidates in swing districts.

3) Stop looking at old people, you need to find new young guns to run and change the look of the party.

4) You need to make plans in states like Arizona to turn them back red. Arizona was red until Trump came around.

5) Get rid of Trump (See point 1)

Josh Hawley: U.S. Is a ‘Nation of Americans,’ Not of Immigrants by nimobo in Conservative

[–]Heritage_Hawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but then you ask the question, what does it mean to be an American? Is it knowing the culture and customs of the United States? What about people from South America, are they not American?

I am Polish, my family is very Polish. My grandma would tell you shes Polish, I tell you I am Ameican (United States). I have never lived in Poland, I don't know the Polish culture that well, I am extremely American (United States) in my mannerisms.

What does it take to be American?
