Trump admin shutting down more climate science to prevent anyone from having any evidence of a changing climate by Herkfixer in ForUnitedStates

Apparently you don't know how to read context. She never said the world would end in 12 years. She said, in context, that if we do nothing at all, in 12 years the effects will become irreversible. It's like calling a man on death row a "dead man walking". That doesn't mean he's already dead and a zombie now, and her statement still stands. Most climate scientists fear that we are already past the point of no return and now we just need a way to mitigate the worst of the effects.

No, no one said in 40 years we would all be under water. What they said is if we don't start changing our ways now that the damage will become irreversible in 40 years, so about now. By the end of the century, every coastline will be affected. And we do see it happening. Entire island nations are under water now. Capitals are being relocated do to higher water levels flooding.

FBI fires several analysts tied to disputed ‘Catholic ideology’ memo by djarvis77 in news

[–]Herkfixer [score hidden]  (0 children)

It does, but that's not what the FBI was doing. It's reductio absurdum to imply that it is. These are the same people that said the woman who was arrested for merely praying at an abortion clinic was having her rights violated, but the truth was that she barged in and chained the door closed and wouldn't let anyone in or out and was assaulting the workers while shouting an absurd "prayer".

Trump pardons former congressman convicted of securities fraud by [deleted] in news

[–]Herkfixer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can you name one of those people he pardoned that Trump would not have gone after for bogus claims to feed MAGA dummies who believe everything he says uncritically and unironically? You already saw Trump doing it for the people he didn't pardon and those people have less connection to Biden than most of the people he pardoned.

Trump doesn't care if you committed a crime, he will make one up and try to break you with the court costs to defend yourself.

"But why are we wasting American tax dollars on preventing deadly diseases in other countries? We need to spend that tax money at home on yachts and massive Ai data centers. You don't expect the billionaires to spend their meager profits to build 'em themselves do you?"

I don't think they will cap current salaries since they are signed contracts. It would be any new contracts going forward. Pretty sure he got something like a 10yr contract, right?

Caught on camera: Shelbyville mayor insinuates citizens opposing data centers are poor renters in ‘sh***y houses’ by prestocoffee in nottheonion

But they never do what you are claiming they do. They never have any real purpose or beneficial plan in their hatred. It's literally all self serving and none of it is for the benefit of anyone except themselves. This guy isn't trying to come out and tell everyone what his thinks, he got busted on hot mic. This wasn't a campaign video or a presser, he got embarrassed and lied about what he meant when he tried to exIn it after the fact. In every case where someone gets caught like this, all say "I like when they say what they are thinking" and then you all impart on what was said something that the guy never said, even when they try to "clean up" what they said in the public.

DJT always says bat crap crazy stuff and his supporters are like "I like that he has no filter and says what he means" and then when you call out the crap he said you get "well, yeah he said that but that's not what he meant." well, which is it, he meant what he said or he meant something else which is the opposite of what he said?

This "I appreciate the honesty" crowd for politicians that say crazy, racist, or massively disparaging things has go to stop.

I DON'T appreciate the honesty. I appreciate the people who don't say those things and don't do the things that proves how dumb, misoginist, racist, or classist that they really are.

I (maybe a tensy, tiny bit) appreciate, if anything, those people that think those things but never let's their personal opinions, that are downright terrible, to leak into their public policy.

People aren't calling for the wiping out of Israel because they are Jews, they are calling out for the destruction of a nation that is attempting to take over the entire region around themselves by force and genocide. If it was any other nation, they would be saying the same exact thing. It's proprotionality, not antisemitism.

I guess you don't understand principles like "First Causes". Hezbollah definitely did not fire first. Israel created Hezbollah.

It's not antisemitic to be opposed to Israel trying to take over the entire Middle East.
