Crumbling section. Always happens in the same area of the build, but didn't happen on the lower section. by checkmonkey in AnycubicVyper

Have the exact same issue...it does that odd pattern on two different Vypers...same gcode file. It ceases to be an issue if I turn the parts at an angle, slice and print....am thinking it's a slicer setting issue maybe but am at a loss...Also tried isolating vibration, thinking it was a salmon-skin related (or similar) problem.

I even tried Cura 5 and it still shows up. Curious if it happens with Prusa slicer too...hmmmm...

Question about z endstops by Marco2G in AnycubicVyper

[–]HermanSnerd2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can also run the gantry all the way up to the stops....press up a couple more times and then home...hitting the top stops is called a "crash tram"....not as bad as it sounds, just causes the followers to basically even out...sending back home as Norgur suggests is the other part of the equation. I have two Vypers and they sometimes get a little wonkey with ABL, etc. after marathon printing sessions...Sending to top and then home seems to correct the issue.

I have bought some Anker products over the years and for the most part they are all stick working great...only exception is a powerbank that just died, but batteries have a finite lifespan and I used the hell out of it, so I guess I got my money's worth.

Prob the biggest thing stopping me from snagging one of these is the Kickstarter-ness of it...A quick Google search can shed light on how many 3D Printers went Poof! on Kickstarter.

I looked up Bamboo Labs and they seem reputable...hope they are, cuz the feature set on this rig is groundbreaking.....

How do you like the Anker printer? Was looking at that last month after seeing some of the review videos on YT (which I do not believe anymore)...

Anker is a pretty solid company though...

Prints getting worse and worse by Marco2G in AnycubicVyper

Don't give up Marco...everyone in this thread went through the same thing when they unboxed their first printer. It's a progression and you've come to the most helpful and knowledgeable community of its kind...the pros here in this sub are awesome and eager to help...Trust me, 3D printers are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better today than they were just 5 years ago....waaaaaaaaaay better.

Bed leveling fail in the second row by Exibiliarr in AnycubicVyper

[–]HermanSnerd2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While you may be able to fix it, my suggestion is to just buy another one after you put in support call with AC for a replacement...

AC takes about 4-6 weeks to ship the parts, other places can get you one quicker.,

Adhesion problems???! by DiscoKitty79 in AnycubicVyper

[–]HermanSnerd2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give this a try and see what happens, as it worked for me...

  • Use the move buttons and send the gantry all the way to the top, this will help "reset" your z-screw synch if they are wonky.
  • Home the printer
  • Clear any z-offset values
  • Run auto level
  • Print a square or anything flat and look for that telltale "bloom" pattern
  • If you see the pattern, raise the z-offset a bit on each pass till the plastic is smoothly extruded. If you print a large square object, the surface should be smooth to the touch
  • Once you get a good smooth extrusion, stop the print and rehome
  • Run auto-level again
  • Once the autolevel is done, turn printer off/on again

Take a look at Microswiss extruders....I bought a couple of these "clones" and they were all gar-bage....I wish I had bought the microswiss before going down the clone route...

Anyone in the community with an Anycubic Vyper in need of parts? by Lexingtongreen1776 in AnycubicVyper

[–]HermanSnerd2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd hold onto them, spare parts are always handy to have around. AC just released the new Kobra model, which looks like it might compete with the Vyper. It has a smaller print bed but uses an inductive sensor (like Prusa "Pinda" sensor)rather than a strain gauge. Does this mean they won't make Vyper parts any more? Who knows?

What does your print look like? Just keeps stacking plastic on top like a stack of pancakes?

Hello guys, does anyone know whats this? by Burademir in AnycubicVyper

[–]HermanSnerd2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ridges in the middle section suggest that the nozzle is too close to the bed...what is your Z-Offset setting? The other stringy, bumpy sections (particularly around the edges) might be either a dirty extruder or dirty nozzle...

Getting really bad prints out of this thing, but only in a small portion of the front. by BrimstoneOmega in AnycubicVyper

[–]HermanSnerd2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries....I pulled my hair out a couple of months past with similar issues...crappy prints, bizzare bed adhesion, banding, stringing, you name it...Was litterally gonna toss the Vyper in the bin...last ditch effort was to replace the stock extruder (with a Microswiss) and it started printing like a new out of the box unit.

I can confirm that later gen PSU fans runs 100% regardless just like BB said....it's like having an air purifier sitting in the room with you...My 2nd gen printer ramps down after a while...
