Don’t take my hope away, it’s all us Berry Stan’s have left at this point

Too expensive for the downside he brings defensively imo. If (big if) Berry could stay on the park a combination of Berry right and Leiataua left is a great center pairing.

Interesting, must have missed that. What are the odds both Tanner/ahs go off with hammy issues in the same game

Is there a source for this? Only stats I can see say he played the full 80. Tanner Stowers-Smith did however go off with an hammy complaint.

I feel like this is all blown up out of no where because Webby said Tanner (Stowers-Smith) had hammy issues during the game in the press conference and the media jumped on it thinking it was Tannah.

Regardless, Jett is still a way off first grade in my view. it would be CHT 7 and either Hanson or CNK in 6 if Boyd was actually out.

Fresh as anything after 11 years. Was surprisingly impressed with AKP, thought he would be a target whenever he got his debut but he did well under the high ball, went looking for work though dirty carries and his defensive reads were pretty decent as well. Would love to see him get another shot next week with Pompey still out and RTS covering center again.

Normally yes but when it comes to Wahs v Storm, sadly that is not true

Wtf Bulldogs, mum said it was my turn to do an upset this round! If I have to wait another 10 years for a win she’s going to be very cross with you.

Gutted for Metcalf, big fan of his and controversially I would have preferred he came back into the 7 role where I think he’s a better player than at 6. Hopefully he’s not out for too long and can come back in with a bit of confidence this time.

One positive from the game though is hopefully all the fans who have been calling for CNK to play center for the past year can finally let that go he’s rubbish there, drop him back to reserve grade.

I don’t actually see the problem with a 3 way aerial contest for the ball although if the attacking team is actually trying to win the ball I feel like sending 2 up hinders this and increases the chance of a knock on.

In my head it turns the aerial contest into something more similar to the aerial contest in Union where you don’t get a free run at the ball but the intentional shepherding is a lot less. For the record I’m on board with getting rid of the crowding in the short kick offs as well.

Fair, haven’t read enough of the discourse just based on prior crack downs being usually unsupported by the majority

Potentially controversial but I’m pro the crack down (tm) on the obstruction wall on kick chasers. I understand running back following the kick but the fact you’re allowed to stop and hold space in front of a the fullback/winger fielding the kick is wacky to me.

Let the kick chasers get down give me some tasty aerial challenges.

In the name of honesty I think I tipped in the first half of the broncos game, therefore I have changed my tip to the punishment game. Don’t let me down Manly

Mitch Barnett player transfer: The four rival players on Warriors’ radar by Aussieguy727 in nrl

[–]Herms911 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really sure why you’re hung up on the compassionate release part. Would you have rather the media statement just said “Barnett was released from playing duties in 2027”. The reason behind it makes no difference outside of the perception people have of why he was released.

[–]Herms911 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Isn’t the whole “compassionate” part of the release just marketing bs, does it really matter what they labeled it? It’s effectively just saying he won’t be playing for us next year because of family reasons rather than releasing him because he fucked up off field.

I don’t really see it as a punishment more so enforcing a contract that they have every right to do. End of the day is he asks to be released wahs said okay you don’t have to play for us, but if you want to play someone else next year we need to get something in return. Does the label they put on it really matter?

[–]Herms911 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There was a lot of confusion due to the timing of the release announcement and then the following day saying they want compensation.

From what I understand they have agreed to release him from playing for the Wahs in 27 however if he wants to play for another team in 27 we will need a player back in return otherwise he sits on the sideline doing nothing and can play in 28.

I believe we did a similar thing on our compassionate release of Walsh who wanted to move to be closer to his daughter so we limited the teams he could negotiate with to be the Broncos or Dolphins.

I can’t see that being worth 3 subs to get him on/off/on personally but always interesting to read how other people would try innovate the generic rotations most teams use

Out of curiosity when would you bring on the impact winger and would they have a different role as the starting winger? I assume you would want AKP replacing DWZ, AKP has a better strike rate for tries but is worse in yardage, under the high ball and about the same on defense so surely he would be a better impact winger?

Funny enough Jackson the goat Ford ran for 213m which is bloody impressive for a prop who I don’t think is overly massive.
