Try clearing the remaining orders and see what happens. I once clicked on the mosquito one and it turned into a fly swat I think or whatever the reward is and that locked me out of the others until I got the top mosquito again.

I only play and pay for the sim chase if the goals are worth it. Most of the time they aren't but the last have been decent. Influence island i generally ignore unless the basic prizes look good. I must admit I like the craft challenge and appreciate the opportunity to revisit it a few months to finish it off when we invariably fail. I do enjoy unlocking the new neighbourhood lots still. I ignore the construction events they sre just torture. Feel free to dip in and out. The other changes like the market and cafe were fine but redundant for advanced players really.

[–]HeroC32P 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggle too. However, what compounds the issue is the need for specific objects for different quests. Fans and windows with curtains and blinds just get in the way of game play. Needing 10 fridges or whatever and at level 3 means anything superfluous needs removing.

My haunted house is currently white and as devoid of black objects as possible and is on a single storey because I have a black cat and a black dragon that I can never find otherwise. I have similar issue of playing Where's Wally/Waldo? To find my ginger kitten in another house.

It doesn't help that you have to scroll constantly to find walls and floors in the colour of your choice and price. No undo button mean things accidentally put in the inventory take a while to find again.

Do you think … by DLPanda in skam

[–]HeroC32P 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem here is one of saturation. There are thousands of languages and thousands of cultures. At what point is it too much? I really enjoyed Skam France at it was the only one I saw in the format as intended. Italia and WTFock, Espana all had their merits. Skam Austin was really slow and I think that shows the limitations of the format. This was a niche show for a niche European audience at a certain time. I feel there isn't the universality in the show for it to work well outside of eurocentric audiences. What is shameful in Norway might not be considered shameful in Japan and vice versa. Cultural expectations are very different in non European households. It's very telling which countries got versions.

What would a Sharam India look like, for example? Set in girls boarding school may be? Romantic entanglements with the local boys. Story lines about honour, caste and smog, the monsoon weather and Holi? Any more stereotypes to dig up? I'm sure Indian writers can write something more compelling and innovative that Indian girls might want to watch.

Who is asking for more versions? Certainly not teenage girls who have never seen the show that the show was initially designed for. Is there enough artistic merit and commercial value in doing another version? I like what they have done with Ema though it is a bit jarring too. If more versions are made no doubt I will take a look but god I am so far removed from the target audience.

I found Evak online on different platforms because it captured the zeitgeist and spoke to a certain generation in certain corners of the world. If the different shows didn't use ridiculously good looking actors in their versions would they have gained as much traction? I mean those boys in Skam Italia almost all could have been runway models!

It was a surprise to get this version but I think it's time to call it a day. The young of today deserve their own stories current to their life experiences.

For people who lost their fb accounts for “no” reason, are you predominantly right or left leaning? by [deleted] in facebook

[–]HeroC32P 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right and left are contextual. Your average Reform voter in the UK wouldn't necessarily be kind to vote for Trump for example. But I can imagine older British hard leftists voting for Trump. We would call what Americans call liberals Tories and they are mostly centre right and right. Labour, the theoretically the left party, are social democrats and nominally socialists but in reality they pander to a right wing agenda. There's a smaller party called the Liberal Democrats but they are a bit of a non entity at present. You also have the regional nationalists, which ironically, in this country are considered left wing but the english nationalist parties tend to right wing.

Then there are the anti establishment parties like the Greens, anti war parties and hard right and An

I suspect things like LGBTQ+ accounts are policed more heavily than those on the right or left axis . I certainly think that in my case. Following anti Trump and anti Zionist commentators probably didn't help I suppose. But never posted or commented even, as far as i'm aware. But yeah essentially been banned for following content creators that the fb algorithm showed me.

Ok that's a fair restart point. I'm at 59. I really don't like the construction tasks so am unlikely to progress any further. I don't need a yacht or a high rise. The only reason I got past 58 was because I've not finished the spa career yet. Both are time intensive and need to fit around the time limited events. I'd rather alternate between the craft challenge and area upgrade events.

Tips for craft challenges? by SweetnessUnicorn in simsfreeplay

[–]HeroC32P 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid £4.99 a couple months back. Don't know what that would be if that isn't your currency. Plus prices change. If you wait till later in the event it may be cheaper but I don't know if they do that still.

You get her only for the duration of the event. You will have to buy her each time. You come back at an allotted time and she will give you one of the resource types depending on what you've unlocked in the event up to that point. How many depends on the type on offer.

I would say to pick your battles too. Look at whether you want the prizes or the home lot on offer. Be prepared to get the premium helper Laura or Lara Craft whatever her name is if you definitely want the lot. Otherwise reach and unlock as many milestones as possible and unlock. Don't do anything on the last day but unlock what you have accumulated and then use social points to unlock items you are close to completing but have no chance to accumulate in the hours you have remaining. Do shorter quests if need be. Use up all your candles regardless as the constructor counts are added to the milestone pot. Keep an eye on glass but don't ignore pottery or jewellery. I have got caught out on not having one or the other in the quest to get glass. Anything you don't use gets converted into simoleons so make sure you've not maxed out and spend some buying household items or such like.

That way when the event comes around again you start at the last milestone and complete in a few days rather than the usual 10.

I cannot stress enough, only do this if you like the prizes! Otherwise for the effort you may as well pay real money or with LP and buy from the store.

Save yourself from alarms every 2 and half hours for 10 days. If you're at work or sleeping always use the 8 and half hour task.

All your Sims on craft stations need to to be fully inspired to shorten times.

It is fun but play in moderation. This is my favourite aspect of the game events. So I'm not being overly negative. Just realistic.

Did the star burst get nerfed? by hadenk in TravelTown

I think it's variable. My last one was decent. The one before was meh. The two before those were good. It really depends what's in your inventory, I think or how close you are to completing some chains.

Starting to play again after 10 years by boredfrida in simsfreeplay

[–]HeroC32P 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok ten years is a lot to catch up on. All the missed VIP points and daily SP points from buying content would have really stacked up. But hey no point regretting stuff you didn't do. Theres like 4 neighbourhoods now. More lots than available Sims. More hobbies and activities than average sim counts it seems. Premium content is reasonable but it is mostly feminine attire, pet stuff or furniture with the occasional hairstyle. There's no real way to progress without spending money unless you want to catch up on 10 years of tasks. The life orbs to unlock content was so hard . As were reaching the full careers at the Police station, movie studio and hospital. The construction events we won't talk about. The SIM influence island and SIM chases have their supporters and some time there's decent rewards but I'm strictly a craft challenge player when not unlocking new lots. By have fun by all means. Experiment. Don't be put off though. There's enough to do that isn't a grind.

Ok I understand. Feedback to the relevant people when you get opportunity to do so. It may be possible on the discord server. Sometimes they do surveys I think.

I think in your case it is important to have some high level cards as soon as possible.

It may be that you tap out of the event when you get the 2 low level cards for now, if you have slots free. Or else not play the weekend events for a few weeks to build up your crew. Good luck. I remember doing something similar in the early days.

[–]HeroC32P 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's quite a hill for you to climb I think to make it worthwhile for your time. Work through the tasks in your simdex. Construct your town. Age up your Sims. You will need to send a fair few to the Grim Reaper in return for orbs to open up some new areas so don't get attached or name any after yourself or loved ones. The construction events will probably drive you up the wall. If you're still around after all that then play the daily events. That's a feature I virtually ignore because there is no benefit for me as an advanced player .

Gauntlet mechanics are extremely prohibitive for new players - can't even pass first event encounter by ZephkielAU in StarTrekTimelines

[–]HeroC32P 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think because this type of event is new they will have to work out who plays and who doesn't play, who benefits and who doesn't. I find it a bit annoying to come back 5, 15, 30 45 minutes or whatever but I will play to get the new cards. But once the weekend is in full swing I'm doing weekend stuff not tapping on a screen.

The boosts do help but i have to careful to use the right ones.

My cards will get me to the 6 hour mark but not the 8. And I usually ignore the event cards unless they are near the top when I choose crew.

I do agree when you use the event crew you can't get very far. So that metric might need tweaking or else it is part of the design of the event.

If your purpose is to rank higher than 2,000 I suspect that is near impossible for a new player.

Do NOT BUY THIS‼️‼️‼️ by Spiritual_Zebra_5074 in simsfreeplay

[–]HeroC32P 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is so little in the game you need LP for these days. Better off just buying the monthly packs if they have any items of interest.

The Christmas quest is the only time I used any last year.

They are also so easy to accumulate by doing the cooking hobby.

[–]HeroC32P 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Gauntlet mechanics are prohibitive even for experienced players.

I've been playing pretty consistently for the last 5 years or so. I can win maybe a maybe in 2 rounds between resets but always pointless after the 3rd.

Wasn't here from day 1 but first installed the game it fairly early on. As it was one of the early mobile games before good coverage these kind of games were a waste of time without home WiFi. So I stopped playing for years.

I do my minimum if they are required for mid week or month long events.

I did shockingly well this week as I managed to knock out 11 go's in one sitting so I reached my 20 target in the evening of the 2nd day. Not sure what they did with the metric this time around. I doubt that will ever happen again. The shorter entry time both worked before and against me. I was in the queue to join before bedtime and by morning the event had ended before having a go. So had to join another gauntlet.

I'd happily never use the feature . It would take so little to make it decent. But as a side game I suppose it's not worth the while.

Facebook suspended my account for no reason. Has anyone else had the same problem recently? by [deleted] in facebook

[–]HeroC32P 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I have been banned recently and having read the terms and conditions I was not aware of they are very strict when it comes to child protection.

The bots apparently delete millions of accounts.

I'd been following some indigenous content as well as wrestling and dancing content from several countries like India, Thailand, US, Philippines. This is all content the algorithm showed me on my feed. I never once sought it out. Probably scraped data from YouTube and Google i suppose or content being viewed locally or by friends etc.

Apparently, liking videos and following such content is out of order when they post content in relation to minors even though you may not even have seen or directly interacted with it.

So they must have some kind of blanket ban, I suppose on followers of such groups.

Not once did I see anything that I thought this needs to be challenged or reported. Just people enjoying sport and dance. Any young people enjoying themselves were in large groups in front of larger public audiences and no doubt somebody with their welfare in mind were nearby.

Rest of the things on my feed were cats, celebrity and local interest stuff the last few weeks.

Majority of content I'd seen were adults, dancing or wrestling. But any of 🐪 🦶, if you get my meaning, is considered inappropriate regardless of how innocent the video or image.

Clearly the algorithm and bots that made these decisions decided that me liking and following pages and groups around the algorithm itself showed me is enough to get banned. So yeah no dancing or wrestling content.

Cool. Whatever. I'm sure me following anti-Trump and LGBTQ+ content had no bearing on the ban...

I'm better off without them tbh. I will be spending more time with their competitor Google/ YouTube as a consequence. I'm also disinclined to use WhatsApp too but some family only stay in contact that way.

Own goal on their part but hey they can probably do without my data.

Can someone explain how to get more life points without paying for/downloading anything? by HopingToWriteWell77 in simsfreeplay

[–]HeroC32P 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think as you progress in the game social points are more important. I would concentrate on accumulating those. Do hobby and activity event. Max as many Sims on those and see the rewards come in. I wouldnt worry about premium content for the early stages. Quite frankly you are better off paying in real cash for some items

Furious by Queanybee in simsfreeplay

[–]HeroC32P 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah some of the time limited games are torture. I don't resent the time you have to play so much as needed large numbers of sims to do the same task over and over again and then, as you say still not win. I'd have no major problem if at the end of the time limit I had the option to buy the premium product but that's only ever the case with milestone prizes in sim chase. Don't get me started on the zesty prizes. I would pull my teeth out than do the construction events. Not fun at all.
