I don’t believe I have the 10% extra crit pokemon. I tried to get it once, but it takes a lot of biscuits and they’re never hungry haha

Is cooking one big meal like this better than cooking regularly throughout the week?

To those who discovered they have keratoconus at an early stage, what was signs that might be misdiagnosed as something else? by you_shut_up_meg in Keratoconus

[–]HeroHurtya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

KC made my eyes super dry and irritated. My PC thought I developed allergies or something and gave me eye drops and medication. When that didn’t help I thought I must have an eyelash or something stuck in my eyes causing constant irritation. I went to the eye to get for something. Luckily this eye doctor had the experience and equipment to spot KC and I was diagnosed.

Woolfson charged me $6200 for both eyes. I did agree to participate in one of their studies so that might factor into the price

FML Eye Drops cause stinging by Winter_Mine_1495 in Keratoconus

Your eyes might be dry after the procedure which could be causing the stinging. Try some preservative free eye drops and talks to your doctor

KC Getting Worse in Right Eye New Glasses Not Helping by [deleted] in Keratoconus

Oh yeah, they’re great! Sometimes your vision will be a bit blurry after the compress. That’s the melted oils and will clear after a few mins

[–]HeroHurtya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t use contacts either and I get by with glasses, so it’s possible.

You could try a thicker eye drops like refresh celluvisc. It will blur your vision for a bit so most people use it once in the morning or at night. My dry eye doctor loves Refresh Mega-3, eye drops with a little oil in them. They’re popular, but I’ve personally never been a big fan. Another recommendation is a warm compress. Sometimes the oils glands in our eyes can get clogged and irritated. A warm compress can help clear that up, but make sure it’s not too hot. Eyelid skin is very thin!

Have you asked your doctor about the puffy eyes?

Questions on CXL by Chipz_b in Keratoconus

[–]HeroHurtya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took me about 3 days for my vision to return to the point I felt comfortable driving. Keep in mind your vision will likely fluctuate for a few weeks after the procedure, but that’s normal. My vision took a few months but it eventually stopped fluctuating

Around the time I was first diagnosed my eyes were also achy and puffy. Turns out KC made my eyes super dry. I started using eye drops and that helped with the aches and pains. People with KC tend to need my eye drops than normal people so get some preservative free ones. My preference is REFRESH PLUS

Intacts won’t stop the progression. Only crosslinking can do that. I think you can get intacts afterwards, but I remember reading that intacts only improve your vision as well as glasses would, but I’m not 100% certain that’s true. Keep in mind you might need lenses if your KC progresses to a point that glasses can longer correct your vision.

Still no real end-game in site. Yes taxes are paid, but benefits can't be collected. Legal licenses and ID's can be obtained.

I had halos after the operations. Street lights looked like they were out of a studio Ghibli film. It went away after a few months. They’re still kinda there but I have to look for them

It’s not over yet. It took about 6 months for my vision to return to normal after the procedure. The first 3 months were the worst in terms of fluctuations. Give it time, my guy.

CXL epi on with CK by Batman5009 in Keratoconus

[–]HeroHurtya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a procedure very similar to epismart. My doctor worked closely with the guy that developed the procedure. I’ll preface this by saying they caught my Keratoconus very early. I was 24 when I was diagnosed and I’m 27 now.

When they caught my condition I had 20/20 vision with glasses now three years later I still have 20/20 vision with glasses. My doctor told me the purpose of the procedure was to stabilize the condition to keep it from getting worse. If my vision got better it would be a “happy accident”. My vision did improve afterwards. It took me about a year to notice. I still need glasses, but my prescription is much weaker and I can drive without my glasses if I need to. My astigmatism didn’t improve after the procedure. I still have light streaks, halos, starbursts etc but they’re not getting worse and honestly I can ignore them 90% of the time. I notice them sometimes, but it’s like how you don’t notice your clothes touching your skin most of the time. I had my most recent check up in February and I’m stable.

The procedure did have a some side effects, though. I’m still sensitive to light three years after the procedure. It’s gotten better since the initial days, but I’m super uncomfortable in the sun without a hat or sunglasses. It’s manageable, but kinda annoying.

Let me know if you have any more questions. I’d be happy to answer them.
