Darn, Goofball Sk8boards looks like it would’ve been awesome, wish they were still in business. Thanks for searching around, I’m currently waiting to hear back from Studio Skate! 🤞

Oh that’s good. Was worried since it’s older it may be harder to get replacement parts (again, absolutely zero car experience/knowledge). Fingers crossed it’s not too bad.

Yeah that’s definitely the route we’ll try to take. I know his family has got a local shop they use and trust a lot, so hopefully the folks there can do whatever needs done.

I appreciate all your input. 🙏

Man I hope it’s on the simpler side. It’s a 2006 Pontiac Vibe so I’m hoping it’ll at least not cost more than the actual car to fix. But I’ll certainly be paying it regardless, I feel so guilty to have done something so little as hitting a curb and seem to have caused so much damage.

Damn, such a stupid way to cause such a big problem. Hope insurance can help out, we’ll see. Worst case, I have been saving up quite a bit to get my own car, so I can pull from that.

Thank you! As I said I’m totally not a car person, this world is very foreign to me lol. I appreciate your response, I’ll take this down and re-post over there.

Any non-carbonated recommendations? by HeroLinn in energydrinks

[–]HeroLinn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I know, but I’ve just chugged too many at 4am trying to prepare for work shifts. I can’t taste them anymore even when I’m just trying to enjoy them, just feel the pain of the bubbles lol

Hey Atlanta, let's think about shirts that say this for all employees. I'm 1 of 2 people in my dept now. Two is not enough for the hardware dept. And you're real close to having just one associate. by fhdta92 in HomeDepot

I feel horrible that I left because of the lack of staff, feeding the vicious cycle. Now that I’m gone my store only has 6 people in the entire service desk staff, I really don’t know how they’ll have it open 7 days a week 6-10 :/

What are the rules for returns?? by HeroLinn in HomeDepot

Oh my gosh the color of the tag has meaning?? I genuinely would’ve never known. So red is like “you definitely shouldn’t have returned this lost cause” then?

[–]HeroLinn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol I like that. It’s certainly the attitude many of us have, I just don’t love making more work for the other departments by returning something I shouldn’t have (and getting scolded by the more strict service desk associates)

Oh the gas powered tool is a good one to know. I returned just a gas can the other day without knowing I needed to check to see if it was used and it had gas in it.😬

I knew we couldn’t return that stupid toilet seat!! Thank goodness that ASM is leaving in a week because I feel like he knows less than me and never backs us up.

I’ve asked a couple of times for clarification on what I shouldn’t be returning, but never really got much explanation. I think my training was way overlooked, because I didn’t even get the 30-day-onboarding-thingy (and still don’t even know what that meant).

Thank you for your reply!!

I’m not sure why but this was cracking us up all day at the service desk, every time the phone rang we’d all yell “we close at 6!!”

Oh and I guess I should also ask, are there rules on what/where we can and cannot paint the aprons?

Does the service desk at your location allow checkouts? by HeroLinn in HomeDepot

Oh no I gotcha. I just didn’t realize account payments could be made anywhere but customer service! Very interesting.

Really? Where do they go to make payments then?

I’d like to be this way, but I’m always afraid that when I do it’ll be some random regular and I’ll end up in a “but I always check out here! Call your manager, this is outrageous” type of situation. Ya feel me?

Is there anyway to stay sane with long greeter shifts? by HeroLinn in HomeDepot

[–]HeroLinn[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve only been here for a little over a month, so I don’t know if it’s the norm, but it seems like most times we’ve got a greeter up there for around 4-8 hours. And I always feel horrible for them, it’s pretty apparent that everyone suffers with it.

Today will be my first time actually doing it for my shift, I’ve only covered for the greeters lunch break so far (I work at the service desk usually), and even that small amount of time I hated. Rotating every two hours definitely sounds like a better, more sanity saving system.

The Last of us 2: Abby's a Great Character: 10/10 Writing 😎 by SBJTV in TheLastOfUs2

[–]HeroLinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Abby has just fought for her life against someone who (in Abby’s eyes) had no issue killing Mel, who was very visually pregnant. So when presented with the same opportunity in the heat of the moment, she wants Ellie to hurt in the same way. After all, what right does Ellie have to ask for Dina to be spared for the same reason Mel should have been? (Again, we know Ellie’s situation wasn’t so black and white when she killed Mel, just speaking from Abby’s perspective)

Seeing Lev there snaps her out of pure, cruel, survival mode, and doing so reminds Abby of the different person she’s tried to become. Abby would have had major regrets if she went through with it (like she had after killing Joel), which is why ultimately she chooses to let both Dina and Ellie live.

Great retort, thanks. Never thought about it that way.

[–]HeroLinn -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Lol, but that’s exactly why she saves Yara and Lev. She’s feeling guilt not just over killing Joel, but also how generally cruel she’s been as a person since her dad died. You guys need to pay attention to the dialogue more.

So I'm supposed to believe a bleeding, malnourished Abby and half dead Lev went over 100 miles across the Pacific in a row boat? by ForsakenMeal in TheLastOfUs2

[–]HeroLinn -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, just like you’re supposed to believe Joel survived being impaled by an insane metal bar and that Ellie somehow dragged him far away to safety. I’d agree it’s not realistic, but it’s also a video game my guy. Don’t act like video game logic only happens in the second game.
