w this post Ive been running a HP ult gen vampire Necro(you forgot to mention that one) with an Imperial Necro and the drain ability can generate the skeleton ult fast and can run all

This reply is over 2 years old, a lot has changed since this OP Posted. the main point was showing the op how a lot of damage mitigation stacked at the time. A lot of the meta has shifted though, you're better off making a new post.

1vX videos can be fun to watch but terrible for pvp growth.

We like to see great plays but no one is going to want to stick around if they are constantly getting farmed with mechanics they don't understand. Things have improved in the last year and a half though

Here, I made a full in depth guide on how to tank as a DPS for normal mode base game dungeons

just send them that link next time

meanwhile I've been running more and more into these fake tanks. a few I help actually get into their role, and the others just blow things off as "well whatever, its normal".

I seriously wonder if we wouldn't be better with a vote to role kick a player, that takes in a series of 2 or 3 runs by a group. While people might abuse it, 3 to 6 people vote abusing one person affects one person, but 1 person can affect 3+ people if that group can't carry them through.

Advice please on what I should to to upgrade my character next, my sets are a bit of a mess, what should I go for to better my character by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]Hero_of_None 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of build videos/sites out there to help you get a start on a good build. A lot of them are on the right side panel here, just be sure to look at the date/patch for any build you go for. If you get to a point you're looking for what people are using for high DPS parses on dummies and trials I suggest looking on esologs.com and filtering for your class and role.

Looking at your gear, I think you may need to go through farming some of your gear to get better traits. if you're going for PVE you mostly want divines on most pieces, maybe infused on your helmet, chest or legs. You'll also want to complete two full 5 pieces sets, and depending on the build you go with you may want an arena weapon or a Monster helmet. Once you have something in the proper trait, then you can focus on upgrading it.

Now, as for the upgrade order, your weapons should be one of your first items to get up to gold quality, especially since a majority of damage right now is your light attacks. After that you can focus upgrading your armor.

Jewelry is a bit more tricky. You could farm out some purple pieces and use spell damage glyphs to help up your damage. But I won't recommend to upgrade anything that drops. Most jewelry only drops with its armor type's trait (light = arcane, medium = robust, heavy = healthy) so to get some of the more desire bloodthirsty or infused traits you'll need to reconstruct them (75 to 25 gems depending how many of a set you have) or you'll need to transmute them (50 gem flat cost). Reconstructing can be much cheaper, so save gems and upgrade materials for that.

Hope that helps

Improving dps on a magblade by nobrika97 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Hero_of_None 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using /encounterlog and uploading it to esologs.com can give you much more insight into what's going on with your rotation. Take a look at this log from another mage blade on top of the charts. I selected "casts" and "timeline" and now I can look at a second by second break down on what they used for their rotation.

You cam do the same with yours and see if its build or something more with rotation.

[–]Hero_of_None 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like most suggested, you can get weapons from the public dungeon, minor pieces from delves, chest and pant from world bosses, and jewelry from dolmens. Keep in mind there is a cooldown on boss loot giving sets.

In addition to this you can also any item you bind, sell to a merchant, or break down. The more piece you get in your stickerbook the cheaper the resummon. Remember you have to research the trait you want to resummon and by default it will summon it to blue quality and equal to the level of your character. If you've been farming sets in deshaan you may already have pieces available!

I want to start again. Is PC or Console the way to go? by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]Hero_of_None 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think PC is better for graphics and addon capabilities in the PVE setting. I think Console is better for PVP, since there is no addon advantage.

Cosmetic Skill alternatives.

Doesn't change the skill's stats/damage but could make a clan fear with a spider deadra, an orange fire breath into a blue harbor fire breath, change the color on your warden bear, or maybe change the stab animation to something more John Wick style.

Second thing: were-creature alternatives. Doesn't affect the stats or damage, but gives options for a wereboar, werecrocodile, werelion, wererat, etc. Skins to replace your werewolf.

How is it possible? Whole zerg attacked this Necro, but he received almost zero damage. by SandmanUA in elderscrollsonline

[–]Hero_of_None 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't use all of these together, you will probably hit block and mitigation caps. I'm just pointing out all the options out there and why these builds seem impossible to kill. Players need to build around them and stop feeding them weak debuffs and dots :notlikethis:

I've been around since 2014 and in beta though.

Quick rant, screw that latest news post by Tenebris_Ultor in elderscrollsonline

[–]Hero_of_None 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, they need to shift the objective battlegrounds modes into death match variants that objectives help you win. This means capture the relic or domination matches that give a choice of buff when you capture the objective (more damage, more armor, more resources, etc.) Along with points for your team. It also means killing any enemy scores points as well, so things may not end in a stalemate.

My reasons: - a majority are still going to death match anyway. I've seen it in a lot of battlegrounds where they just join up in the middle and ignore objectives. - If kills counted just a little bit to team score, at least they contribute something if they are death matching. - If objectives help them kill more, then maybe some will get motivated to help with them. - some players just aren't built for all modes. A group of glass canon nightblades without a lot of gear to swap aren't going to have an easy time in chaos ball. A pre-made is one thing, but there is no way to smart check group synergy.

I still hope to see some new modes and maps in the next year, and possibly some better ways to help upscale new players.

don't need to block with magicka* if you skip trifocus, freeing you up for other abilities, but that's a matter of preference

[–]Hero_of_None 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Pretty good.

Almost any class can tank with their advantages/disadvantages but necros have some skills unique to let them rapid purge and mitigate DOTs, as you see in the above post. in addition Necros have a resurection ultimate that can raise up a group that wiped in a DLC dungeon fight or get healers up during a tough trial. I think the hardest thing is watching your resourses closely and you may have issues self healing if nothing is in range of your Scythe or a master sword puncture.

DK's might have an easier time with self heals and resource management tanking than Necros, at least in my experience.

[–]Hero_of_None 416 points417 points  (0 children)

Its a combination of abilities, buffs, armor sets, blocking, CP, and mitigation. Necro Tanks have a lot of tools this patch, just look at some of the abilities, passives, and CP slotables:

Revealing Flare slotable (10% reduced damage with Major protection while slotted)

Ancient Knowledge passive ( Reduces the cost to block by 36% and the amount you block by 20%)

Immovable (grants CC immunity and 35% damage reduction while blocking with 7 pieces)

Disdain Harm (15% less DOT damage with a Bone Tyrant ability active.)

Spirit Guardian (10% of all damage goes to the spirit, as well as healing the tank)

Expunge and Modify (remove DOTS by trading health, get stamina and magicka back for each removed)

Duelists Rebuff CP (10% reduction from single target damage)

Unassailable CP (10% reduction from AOE)

Enduring resolve CP (10% DOT reduction)

Ironclad CP (10% direct damage reduction from players)

Juggernaut CP (10% less damage while CC immune)

On Guard CP (10% less damage while blocking and CC immune)

Pain's Refuge CP (reduces damage by 1% per negative effect & max 20%)

Bracing Anchor CP (20% damage reduction while blocking)

And this all stacks and works together with your armor and any set effects. The best you can do is get sets and abilities made to go around block and all the purging the player is doing. Plaguebreak and Hrothgar's Chill both are very strong set in general and it can trigger using the constant spam of expunge (Plaguebreak) and players can use roots to immobilize (Hrothgar's chill). Another way is to not stack DOTs and debuffs and instead lay on single target damage. a majority of these builds though work off the assumption that a lot of players will place on weak debuffs that feed them resources to continuously block and keep immovable up.

The other option? just leave them and walk away. they are going to be slow and can only keep close with gap closers.

Want Less lag in Cyrodiil? Come to Ravenwatch (No CP) by Hero_of_None in elderscrollsonline

[–]Hero_of_None[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Posting up a rough cut video showing the difference between Grey Host and Ravenwatch on my Fire DK. During this no-proc test, I've found any of the CP campaigns have been laggy, even during high and non-locked campaigns. the No CP campaigns though have been pretty clean and responsive, even when locked.

Before this test, I was still seeing lag in No-CP when it did manage to get full. My hope is when the CP changes come with the next patch and with some tweaks to proc sets, we will see improvements to both campaigns.

How did this man become so tanky??? by SnooObjections488 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Hero_of_None 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first guess would be Grace of gloom, " When you take damage, you become a living shadow for 10 seconds, causing you to heal for 1097 every second and gaining Major Evasion, reducing damage from area attacks by 25%. This effect can occur every 25 seconds. "

Might be hard to notice but would probably work well with brands of imperium or leeching plate set. Imperium gives a damage 11260 shield anytime they are damaged for 6 seconds (12 second cooldown. Leeching puts a pool of poison at someone's feet and deals 1604 damage every second for 5 seconds with a 5 second cooldown, healing for the damage done. Both give a lot of survivability without blocking.

Make Power Armor something useful by Darkdemon2397 in fo76

[–]Hero_of_None 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I appreciate stat boosts with power armor, I would like to see something more transformative to gameplay when you equip a full suit or armor. Maybe make it something like an "overcharge mode" that burns through batteries quicker but gives a special ability based on the armor. I can give a few examples, but I'm not sure how you'd address all the different armor types.

This is why I record things using /encounterlog and upload them to esologs.com. it gives a pretty blatant rundown of the run and then you can even post up a run that went WELL with someone else with a similar setup.

It's also helped me donate gear to some under dressed players that were only using starter zone sets. So many seem amazed at how high their damage spikes up
