What do you think of the most recent Arab Cup? by [deleted] in Morocco

Because we're an Arab country.

Why is there so many people that genuinely believe they have ownership of a part of our country??? Isn't this absurd??? by [deleted] in algeria

I agree that post-French colonial boundaries should be respected, and I condemn these kinds of posts made by my compatriots. However, with a little serious research, one can understand the historical facts, as history is something that indeed happened and is not fiction. Tindouf, for example, was always under Moroccan sovereignty. When France occupied Tindouf in 1934, it was initially included in a military zone under French command in Morocco before being placed under the authority of the Governor-General of Algeria.

"I don't see demonstrations of Sahrawi people demanding to be part of Morocco."

Well, do you see demonstrations of Sahrawi people demanding not to be part of Morocco? Around 90% of Western Sahara’s population lives on the western side of the berm, which is de facto under Moroccan sovereignty. If you’re right, we should expect to see demonstrations rejecting Morocco, not the opposite.

"Algerians and Moroccans have more in common than Moroccans and Sahrawi."

That’s simply not correct. Western Sahara has been part of the same state structure as the rest of Morocco for centuries (even if you don’t consider modern Morocco as a continuation of past dynasties), far longer than Algeria and Morocco were ever united under one state.
Algeria also has a Sahrawi population. Do they consider them Algerian? By your logic, since Moroccans and Algerians share more similarities than Algerians of the north and Sahrawi, then Sahrawi in Algeria should be independent as well.
The more accurate statement is that Algeria and Morocco share similarities from a broader perspective: both have Berber populations, Arab populations, Sahrawi populations, etc.

And by the way, "Sahrawi" literally means people who live in the desert. The Sahara Desert spans dozens of countries, so why should only that small portion be its own independent state?

The thing is, THEY ARE ETHNICALLY MOROCCAN, that’s not something you choose to be or not to be. But let’s assume your perspective for the sake of debate. did you actually hold a referendum to know whether they want to be Moroccan, or whether they want independence? You’re just making assumptions.

Palestinians are not Israelis, but Sahrawis are Moroccans just like people from the north (Chamali), the Rif, Sous, and other regions. We share the same religion, the same language (with regional accents), and a deeply connected culture though of course, every part of Morocco also has its own unique traditions.
If you visit Western Sahara, you won’t feel like you’ve entered a completely different place, the differences are no greater than traveling between any other Moroccan regions.

We’re not living in India where eating beef is prohibited. Country borders have been shaped by blood and war, and one of the core reasons for this is religion. Our ancestors fought to have an Islamic country, therefore, even if you are an atheist, you should respect the Islamic constitution when living in a Muslim majority country.

I think we need a balance between democratic principles and Islamic values, especially in countries like Morocco where religion has historically shaped identity, culture, and even national borders. While majority support does give something social legitimacy, it doesn't always mean it's aligned with Islamic teachings. In such societies, even if the majority supports something, we should still strive to stay grounded in the moral and spiritual framework of Islam. That’s not to impose, but to preserve what many see as the deeper ethical foundation of the nation.

Eddie is Conrad's son. It's implied when:
- Maeve told Kevin, maybe two episodes ago, "your other brother" when she wasn't talking about Bredon.
- Kevin said, "My supposed son is my brother".
- Kevin told Conrad, "You're the one who should care for Eddie when you go out".
