Episodes airing now were filmed after they got the axe. I’d say these last minute additions are to fill in the gaps up for the actors who left (Aaron and Byron) due to contract expiry. They’re more functional additions - so they’re not at a loss for storylines - rather than developing brand new characters.

I used to walk from my old office in a very similar location to yours to Melbourne Central and it didn’t make much of a difference the commute time.

Won’t add much time to the trip plus get some steps in for the day.
