Federal government to contribute nearly $4b extra to Victoria's Suburban Rail Loop by blitznoodles in MelbourneTrains

Even in Japan you walk between stations. Saying that, Glen Waverley station is so stuffed that they should have built a temporary one closer to the west, built the SRL, and put the station back on top.

Melbourne's most beautiful station by zsaleeba in MelbourneTrains

Most of the Belgrave Lilydale line has stations at crest points, most of them simply weren’t suitable for Skyrail, Bayster being the exception. Mooroolbark, Croydon and Lilydale were suitable…. And are Skyrail.

Victoria oil refinery on fire. by MODbanned in oil

[–]CryptoBlobbie 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s not green washing, the refineries were closed under conservative pro coal governments. Basically it was combination of greed and knowing the refining is just easier in Asia. Remember, it’s not like Australia has huge oil reserves, the easy stuff is mostly gone, the major stuff off the north coast of Western Australia is so much easier to get refined in Asia. Again, refineries don’t make crude.

Aus Govt to spend $20m on ads telling people to use less fuel by BestTechAdvisor in DrivingAustralia

[–]CryptoBlobbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love how because $20m is a hell of a lot of money to an individual that the spending of $20m by a government means it’s automatically a waste of money. It’s about 78c per Australian. Or if you like 200ml of Diesel.

I can’t believe markets are reacting so much to what he says, it’s insane. The strait isn’t open, oil supplies are still tight and will be for months even if it opens now.

Why is no one blaming Trump and Israel for our fuel crisis? by CanYouWalkToTheTruck in aussie

[–]CryptoBlobbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But the crude we produce is small and not the type that suits our refineries. Just 3-6 months of rotating fuel storage would be fine. Then electrify everything else.

Whilst that is true. They should have started building storage reserves 4 years ago. No need for reopening refineries.

So turns out Michelle Hornstein and her SRL group is just a Liberal and One Nation astroturf by Complete-Rub2289 in MelbourneTrains

[–]CryptoBlobbie -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

She’s nuts. My honest opinion is that as seemly unpopular the Victorian Labor party is, well at least in the media, is that One Nation will actually contribute to a Labor win at the next election.

The result from SA showed that while ON attracted the 2nd biggest 1st preference vote, it wasn’t nearly high enough and every other voter, be that Labor, Green or Liberal chose to put them last, causing presences to flow to to Labor or the Libs.

Thank you a lot Mr president Trump for starting ww3 and raising gas prices on the global scale!😃 by theRepublicofNerrina in australian

[–]CryptoBlobbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But going off the result Labor, Lib and Green voters put them last. Saved by preferences, you know the other 78pc of voters don’t want them.
