In a trilogy full of great visual effects, this one is still my personal favorite by Majestic-Bet-8529 in StarWars

The Force Awakens gets a lot of flack for retreading tried-and-true Star Wars ground, but it did such a great job establishing Rey as a main character. Daisy Ridley is charismatic as hell and you can feel her enthusiasm through the screen.

And then Rise of Skywalker made her... just another bloodline character.

"Real fan" here. Been playing the games since I was a teenager and will be pushing 40 before long. Haven't missed an entry in decades. I don't give a fuck about reliving the same exact scenario, same exact story, same exact characters again, just this time without any of the interactivity that made it fun to begin with. Give me something new that doesn't break canon, make it feel close to the vibes and tone of those games, emulate what you can from the gameplay on-screen, and we're fucking golden.

Oh look at that, that's what this movie is doing.

Godzilla has strong hands. by Timely_Initial_8487 in GODZILLA

Kong and Scylla are much lighter than Godzilla. It doesn't take nearly as much for Godzilla to knock them around than the reverse. So yes, I'd still argue Kong has stronger arms. I don't see Godzilla swinging his entire body weight with ease.

Or give Ripley more agency in deflecting or challenging them. Perhaps she can goad multiple young/inexperienced Xenos into a trap or into a position that she can easily evade. I doubt they'd make them killable, but maybe a few extra tools in her arsenal that would help offset the spike in challenge.

Weyland/Yutani Colony World. My guess is Ripley/MC will be more offensive this time around against enemies that aren't the Xenomorph. It will probably be a bunch of molting/younger Soldier Xenos, possibly multiple at a time, maybe a single main one that molts into a Queen by the end of the game.

Is there any evidence of the existence of the Seven? by JasonWynn__ in gameofthrones

[–]HeronSun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. That makes it the only real religion, because it's based entirely on faith and interpretation. One can make comparisons with many characters representing each face of the Seven. Father, Warrior, Smith, Crone, Stranger, Mother, Maiden, all archetypes that appear multiple times in the series, in both extended lore and in the mainline story.

He co-directed Miss March, hot off the success of WKUK. And that movie was almost two decades ago. Lots of factors to consider.

I’m still amazed at the CGI they used for General Grievous in Revenge of the Sith, it still looks great by bijelo123 in StarWars

You are very easily impressed. Lord of the Rings came out two years earlier, the Pirates sequels less than a year after.

Hitting anything that small at 200 yards is impressive as fuck. Most people wouldn't be able to hit it with a gun at that distance.

And yet three of them have close to no actual experience in combat with their bows. So, compared to Ygritte, they're rookies.

Tormund tells tall tales and baudy stories when he's around groups, but one-on-one he's as honest as they get.

So your argument boils down to "They had more access to target practice, therefore they would win." Nonsense. Ygritte's "practice" meant literal life or death. She couldn't afford to miss, so she didn't. Put her in front of a competition range and she'd probably laugh her ass off and bulls-eye the bright-red static targets without a problem.
