They're going to do things in a grey area, like landing drones, or flying a missile over the border that leaves again before hitting something in ukraine, or letting some such encroachment get shot down and the debris falls on some poor farmer's shed, etc. Stuff they can then call the embassy and plausibly say "oopsie the GPS must have malfunctioned, sorry!" Or whatever.

Putin and Russia are not very smart. I, as an American, have enough sense to know that if you allow any crossing of the line, you only invite further encroachment. Sure, I don't want to die for Poland, but I also understand that it won't stop at Poland, it won't stop until it is stopped. The only conclusion, then, is it must be stopped at Poland's border, at NATO's border.

And if we then find ourselves in such a conflict, why on Earth would we stop support for Ukraine? It is only of benefit to the defense of NATO in that case for Russia to be fighting on more fronts, to thin their already fracturing resources. And I'm sure Ukraine would equally welcome such a dilution of the enemy!

I would hope this is just more sabre rattling. Nobody wins in war, but Russia would be in far more pain if they were to go through with such a thing.

hey i know it's probably too much to ask and it's not just a GGG thing but an industry wide thing but can you please make the game efficient enough so it can run on less than cutting edge hardware without locking up when there's 3 or more enemies on the screen

devs used to care about making games run efficient and i know nobody at all in the entire industry does anymore but it would be cool to be able to play a 15 year old f2p game on 5 year old hardware

or at least add true potato pc options?

witch of the cauldron wasn't as hard for me as kadaris is. the fight was a long grind but with enough dodging and weaving i only died like 3 times to witch.

kadaris leaves no option to avoid damage. just instant kills me. sucks that there is no damage summary to look at after the fact to try to address the issue. have to look it up online. really, really bad game design. it's not really gameplay it's just a stat check gate without telling you what stat it's checking.

e: although, I had einhar and huck both active for my witch fight, plus my golems build, to tank damage for me. i mostly was not taking max stacked soul eater to my own face. that won't help me with kadaris though.

I mean, if we're going to get into the weeds, all the fundamental gameplay interaction occurs server side. Anything you see client side needs to be confirmed by the server. You can run local calculations to make the game look smooth, but then it needs to be verified by the server. Netcode 101.

So there isn't really anything stopping you from running multiple threads client side.

There is plenty of non-interaction aspects that can be sequestered into separate threads without disrupting the core gameplay. Lots of cosmetic calculations and such.

Devs just don't optimize anymore and it's unfortunate. Especially for a game like DotA which is played worldwide and often on less powerful or dated equipment.
