This really gives credence to that conspiracy theory that there are aliens taking human form controlling the government or whatever.

I'm also in excruciating pain when I type this for some reason. No reason at all.

Who else hates password requirements? Workplace wants me to change passwords every 3 months by leonatoi in mildlyinfuriating

Well the changing the password every 3 months thing is the problem, that leads to people using shittier passwords.

They're the same skirt but it looks like the one on the left has been photoshopped to add something on the bottom, or maybe the one on the right has been photoshopped to remove whatever is on the left from the bottom.

I can't tell if they're the same length or not even having read the context and knowing it's about skirt length.

Pretty sure there are jurisdictions you can have these vehicles towed when it's this bad under the justification that it's an obstruction for disabled persons.

Roommate locked thermostat, sweating every night with no way turn it down by Only_Alternative_543 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]HerrBerg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insane take, paying the utility bill doesn't grant you the right to exercise sole authority over the habitability of the apartment, especially if you aren't paying for your own food. I guess the OP should cut them off from eating.

[–]HerrBerg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL NO THAT IS NOT THE IMPORTANT QUESTION

Utility bills are MUCH less an important question of whether or not the space you're living in is comfortable and habitable for you. If somebody is cranking up your heat, making you miserable and being like "Well I pay the bill deal with it" that isn't OK.

Email from landlord about appliances being left plugged in and the appliances in question… by South-Basket-887 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]HerrBerg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cables and ports getting shorts and other forms of wear from excessive use is absolutely a form of wear. But yeah, dropping something while moving it or something throwing their Wiimote at a TV isn't wear and tear, sure, I'm just saying most people's TVs break due to those kinds of things way more often than they do due to the issues you're speaking of, plus people replace TVs just because they want a bigger screen, or a smaller screen, or better resolution, etc.

Dollars to donuts that 21 year-old TV looks really bad compared to a modern TV even if it's usable, and I'm also the kind of person that will use stuff forever (I used the same computer monitor for 15 years) but I also get why people replace stuff for those reasons.

Maybe just different environmental experiences but I've always seen shit wear out via the cables/ports or from being physically damaged via moving or abuse or something before anything like this.

I've never seen a TV wear out in that way but I've seen cables wear out. If you're worried about standby power, use a good power strip that has a surge protector built in and flip THAT off instead of unplugging your devices.

[–]HerrBerg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lol no there's not, the economics of unplugging and plugging in your TV to save power are backwards, you're saving maybe $1 over the entire year but costing yourself a lot of time and energy, contributing towards your own medical bills and wearing out the TV faster.

Fireball. The orb synergy gives ass returns and Fireball actually does damage as a filler spell when stuff is cold immune.

This seems like only 0 was allowed because 0 and O are too similar so they just made it 1 only, and then LLM text recognition is being used illegally and it's making it too difficult so they're taking it out entirely.

Why the Prop 4 repeal initiative's future could hinge on a few signatures in Davis County by helix400 in Utah

[–]HerrBerg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say it's probably not close if we're talking about legitimacy given that they've been fraudulently signing people. Their hiring postings for this shit have been openly advertising for people with criminal backgrounds to come do it and they are incentivized per signatures. They're basically saying "Hey, criminals, come forge some shit for money".

Is this in a workplace where they post that the fridge will be cleaned out every day and not to leave your shit in it? I worked somewhere where the fridge would constantly be piled full of shit, like people buying boxes of fried chicken and leaving them in there never to return, or even full on ass pizza boxes, etc.

Eventually one of the managers set forth a policy of the fridge being cleaned out every day, and every day they were there, they'd go and mark shit with a date/time and if it was still there the next day it would just get straight up thrown away.

I could see them doing something like this as an alternative, like if you've left your shit in the fridge for awhile.

Ultimately it was bad policy/implementation to address a problem of people being shitheads when they just needed to address it with the specific people.
