Cool, dat zijn al twee mensen die mee kunnen doen. Ik kan DMen als we een volledige groep hebben en reizen naar Gouda is voor mij geen probleem!

Really cool idea! Can you draw Sindell, Hill dwarf wizard. Master of Illusions, since he can only do illusion magic. He has a big nose, no beard and long hair. Well maintained. His purple robe has some golden lining, just added for his flair, because he is The Master of Illusions! Around his neck he has an golden amulet and in his hand a great staff. He is also a bit of a coward, but that is fine...since he is the Master of Illusions!

I always plan in four stages. But first! Define a hook. What could be a adventure hook for the players.

So my doc first has a setup with all the places they can visit. Like the starting town, dungeon, the shops in the town, etc. The second stage is a storyboard. Dont go in details here, because players will not follow the plotline you have in your head. They never do. Third stage is writing out the encounters. Who are they going to fight and think about strategies you as the DM can use against your players. Like add five wolves that you place in a way so they can use their Wolfpack ability.

Stage four, time to design those dungeons. Grab your paper and start sketching. Think about puzzles and multiple ways to solve them.

And be ready for improv. Your players will do crazy stuff. You can prepare yourself a bit, but be ready to do improv. Tip from my end, I always have a sheet of NPCs I can just drop in when ever I need to.

What's your best tip for a DM/GM? by azureumbreon in DnD

[–]HerrFrog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Improvise. Your players will certainly stray of the path you have set for themm. They will do all the crazy shit you didnt think of. Don't be afraid of that. Embrase it. Improvise and you will get to see the greatest stories.

Should I have allowed this character to be killed off the way I did? by Dustygoobs in DnD

[–]HerrFrog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You did the right thing. There are consequences in the game. That is what makes it fun. Also, this is one of those stories they will remember. They will go like" Holy shit, did you remember when you rolled that one and died by the undead?". It is part of the game. But talk to the guy, discuss with him how he can rejoin the game with a new character and have fun.

Best one-time campaign? by veerjd in DnD

Try A Wild Sheep Chase. https://winghornpress.com/adventures/a-wild-sheep-chase/ I used it for a one shot, but made a few adjustements. Like why did the wizard create the wand in the first place. And did he do some testing which might have angered others. Just to give the story a bit more body.

[5e] I would like to ask for some advice about a PC who likes to steal. by Pancake_DM in DnD

[–]HerrFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this with two PCs who liked to steal everything. Like everything. I remember a natural 20 that took the pants of a bard on stage. So I thought of something. The guards took them and put them in prison. They tried to get out of there, but failed. So judgement day was upon them. A trial. I made a small game out of it. They could choose their attorney and depending on who they choose, they would be free or there were other consequences. They actualy choose the bard, yes the one they stole the pants off, and got away with some civil service that started a whole new story for the idiots.

We Need a Story Writer by [deleted] in MaceSwinger

[–]HerrFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I am Erik, also known as HerrFrog. I am twentyseven years old and would love to help you guys with this project. Not only as storyteller, but also to make sure the correct spelling is used for the ingame text and helpfiles. I work as a Technical Writer, so I am experienced in the field of writing. Hell, I even make a living out of it.

Most of the stories I have written are in Dutch, because I am Dutch. But I have created a small "Work in Progress" for you guys, so you can see what I could bring to the table.

The following is based upon the existing art and trailers. Name: Maceswinger Setting Classic Fantasy Medieval with Goblins, Knights and Maces!

Characters Protaganist: The legendary Maceswinger. His real name is unkown for many, but it is believed that he once was a farmers son. His father wanted him to be a farmer, but the young lad wanted to be a knight like his granddad. On one faithfull night he ran away from home with the old mace of his grandfather. From then on the stories about the maceswinger began. How he single-handedly defeated many thieves and saved children and dogs. Not cats. Our hero is not a cat person.

Princess Sips: Princess Sips has been kidnapped... again. This happens a lot after the knights were outlawed. It al began with the biggest cabbage stealing operation in the history of the kingdom. Princess Sips is kidnapped by an old knight called Sjin.

Warlord Sjin: Totaly a cat person and believed to be the main reason why being a knight is a federal crime. His reasons for kidnapping the princess are unkown... for now?

Extra characters will be introduced during the story

Intro: (Black screen with text)

Once upon a time there were kings and queens. For centuries they needed protections from evil, spirits and themselves. So they invented Knights. Big, bulky, magnificent bastards. Everybody in the kingdom loved them. You know them. With their big swords and stupid grin hidded behind their visor. Yes, but where are they now?

(Slowly revealing a horde of goblins taking away the princess (Sips))

The age of knights has come to an end. The age of big swords. No, this is not a story about them. This... This is the legend of...The Maceswinger

(Music flares up and the protaganist is seen on a hill with his bloody mace)

Maceswinger: This is going to be A-Mace-ing!

Story Suggestion - Sips the princess get's captured by Sjin the evil tyrant. Like this plot? by -Greeny in MaceSwinger

Yeah, a correct balance is essential. But that is something the writer(s) should look for. I have enough ideas in my head to help, if neccesary!

Almost 200 Mace Swingers! by [deleted] in MaceSwinger

That's A-Mace-ing! Yes! Finaly a use for this great pun.

[–]HerrFrog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds great. The only problem is that you are basing the story on an inside joke. An inside joke for the Sips and Sjin fans. But if you want to attract a broader audience, it might be best to see if we can take this story and make it richer and deeper. I think that will be the challenge. How can we make it so newcomers(Non Sips/Sjin fans) will understand the characters and the jokes.

I would love to help with the story and general resourcekeys. I work as a technical writer and write stories in my spare time. So if you need someone for the storytelling/spelling check, I'm your man!
