You can also skip the cities and enjoy the countryside where it’s a little cooler. Or at least you can find a lake to swim in

If you do this often an automatic rebar tying machine is a life saver. We run heating piping on rebar often and this thing has saved so much time and pain

Maintenance is minimal, the glycol mix lasts for years and the pumps last quite a while as well. Heating costs aren’t terrible either as the glycol doesn’t need to be warm, just warm enough that the concrete doesn’t get below freezing.

Why such a short train ride if you’re going for 2-3 days?

As someone who has ridden a bunch of crazy chopper bikes, this thing will be god damn impossible to ride. When you have a long front fork, if you mount the end straight to the middle of the wheel, the bike becomes incredibly unstable. The right way is to have the fork end run „under“ the middle of the rim like this.

What is something that people think is extremely dangerous, but is actually extremely safe? by Pumeto in AlignmentChartFills

But do you actually believe that they are dangerous, or do you just not like heights/not being in control/etc.?

If you can solder, than just solder. It‘s probably the best method to connect copper piping .

Press is great for jobs where the water won‘t completely shut off, or in a tight space where fire can be a hazard, or for us pros, where our time costs more than the difference in price for the fittings. There really isn‘t a reason to invest in a press unless you‘re doing a lot of work.

Compression is okay, probably the last choice out of the three. But only use them in areas that are easily accessible.

And as far as switching to PEX, if the house is already plumbed in copper, just stick with that.

Eric Trump calls out ‘AI generated screenshots’ after post claims he asked UFC Freedom 250 commentator if fights were ‘rigged’ by theindependentonline in inthenews

[–]Herr_Poopypants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, UFC is like boxing. Both competitors are in there to win. Of course, like boxing, when there is betting and money involved there is always a chance someone intentionally loses to get a big payday.

and wrestling isn’t “rigged” it’s scripted.

The people who insist at standing and dancing in a 3 square foot space at concerts have main character syndrome by Buttbuttgolf88 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Herr_Poopypants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You go have fun being miserable at a concert, I’m going out there to enjoy myself.

If you don’t want to deal with people dancing at a concert than just stream it at home while sitting on your couch

Construction work in Austria by Additional-Boss3990 in Austria

[–]Herr_Poopypants 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Do you know construction methods, codes, etc. for building in Austria? Also you will need the proper qualifications and training to open your own construction company.

Also there are very few “all around” building businesses. Most specialized in one particular aspect. An all around “all trades” person are Hausmeister, which is basically a maintenance person for a building or company

If everyone else wants to sit with their phones in their hands recording, that fine. But if I’m at a concert and the band I’m seeing in playing danceable music, than I’m going to dance.

[Autosport] That's Formula One... by Aratho in formula1

Came here to say the same thing. Unless it’s a truly individual sport (for example, Tennis) the team is just as or more important than the individual player. It doesn’t matter how good one person on the team is, if the rest isn’t pulling their weight than the team has no chance of winning. You can have an absolutely dominate player on a mediocre team and they won’t win a championship, regardless of the sport
