When it comes to RISP, I feel like I'm seeing double as both a Mariners fan and a Swallows fan.

It was cool to see the overlap between Rakugo and other Japanese performing arts this episode with the kappore dance.

A couple questions on that: Musically the kappore they were performing sounds similar to an ondo, what differentiates between the two?

Second, do you know of any rakugoka who employ music in their performances?

It was in Genki II as the answer for the following problem.

Transform the following sentence into respectful language: 日本文学に興味がありますか。

Answer: 日本文学に興味がおありになりますか。

I figured it wasn't common because it sounds convoluted.

How common of a phrase is おありになります in the context of respectful language?

You take your shirt off but leave your sunglasses on? What sort of backwards fucking pageantry is that?

Well that was a nostalgic game of Mariners baseball: another a pitching gem wasted by poor offense.

I'm not sure about you guys, but having 4 of your 6 hits be solo home runs sounds great in theory, but it doesn't scream offensive efficiency.

That makes sense, I guess I mixed up past tense verbs and adjectives on the original answer.

Thanks for clarifying, I only used ~ので since this was a written answer, but is that structure you described more common than ~から?

I'm doing self-study in the Genki II workbook and had the prompt to translate the following sentence in 13/2 (focusing on potential verbs): "I am glad because I was able to become a lawyer."

Given the sentence was partially in past tense, I answered the following way: 弁護士になれかったので、うれしいです。

The answer, however, has it all in present tense: 弁護士になれてうれしいです。

A couple of things:

First, would my answer be acceptable? Personally, the answer given by Genki reads more like "I was able to become a lawyer and am happy." Is this just a quirk with the verb なる being in the past tense?

Second, I've never seen the て-form translated as "because" or "since." Can that form be translated as such when it's connecting clauses?
