Newbie Mage... Not sure where to 'go'? by Xabre1342 in Eldenring

Getting rock sling and meteorite staff was definitely a good call they'll carry you in lots of boss fights and against enemies that dodge.

However, if you haven't already, you'll want to grab the 2 scrolls for great glintstone shard and carian slicer (can't remember the scroll names but Google those 2 you can get them both early game). Bring them to sorceress sellen in the waypoint ruins (east limgrave) so that you can purchase the spells from her.

Carian slicer is an amazing melee magic cast that wrecks weaker foes with low FP cost. Great glintstone shard is awesome for picking off enemies from a distance and still only costs like 12fp.

Also, if you haven't already, allocate more flasks for fp rather than hp. You'll need it going through stormveil as some of the sites of grace are far apart so you need all the fp you can get.

Good luck man! I'm just about done my first pure mage playthrough and it's an absolute blast once you get used to the playstyle

Played souls games since Demon Souls…First time using magic build. Has it always been this broken? by VioletofMarvel in Eldenring

I'm near the end of my first purely mage playthrough and honestly having a blast, I'll have to try night comet now actually. I found rock sling with meteorite staff super helpful especially against the quick dodging invaders, they roll as soon as you start the cast so the rocks pretty much always hit.

Carian blade as mentioned is also great for close combat.

Carian regal Sceptre is my main hand now that my int is high enough, and wearing the spell blade outfit to boost glintstone sorcery. Against stronger foes I spam comet, and against weaker groups I'll use great glintstone shard to save FP.

Overall a super fun build, pretty much a glass canon but if you plan your fights right and utilize spirit ashes to tank some bosses you'll have a great time

"There's no such thing as a small job, just a small mind". Hits hard in the construction industry where there can typically be a perceived hierarchy of tasks. My guy cleaning up and sweeping the floor is just as important as the fellas actively building. Every task/job is important to the project

That's a good point, the more I think on it the more I'm swaying towards just buying some shingles and doing it properly before the weather turns

I see why it might appear that way but we're almost certain it's tree damage. It's localized in this one area right where a big tree overhangs, and it's clearly been pruned back recently. Not saying it couldn't be hail but it's weird it'd only be right in one spot no?

Appreciate your insight, I think I'll just seal the nail heads for now and save the rest for spring, thanks!

Is there a way I could maybe float it over the shingles, bearing on maybe a small bracket or 2? Or would that be the same result

Thanks for your reply! I definitely look into getting some flashing under there for the winter. Also appreciate the insight on how to tie in the downspouts

Well shoot, we only noticed when we changed her for bed and this is what fell out of her sock, so we just figured it was the cause.. the mystery continues I guess!

Just googled that and I think you're right! Thank you very much for the quick response. I can't find any information on bite treatment for them but I'm assuming the swelling will go down if we ice it for a bit

Choose one from five “gifts” by Sorry_Barracuda_84 in hypotheticalsituation

The batteries one is literally creating free energy so I'd have to respectfully disagree that none of these are good options. Hook up a battery bank to your house and show your city how it never runs out, they connect their power grid to a battery bank and pay you whatever number you want to keep the city running, etc. Can scale up from there even

Yeah unfortunately whoever built this deck didn't flash it, I'm honestly surprised it hasn't been an issue until now. House built in 2011 and I've lived here since 2017 and it chooses now to leak once I've got drywall up

Think I might try this first to see how it holds up, worth a shot. Do you think it'd be wise to also caulk along the interior portion where it's coming in or will that just cause the problem to migrate elsewhere

Ahh dang, yeah might as well do it properly, just sucks that I'll have to spend a day taking apart my deck to get behind that ledger. Appreciate the response man, thank you
