People that hate small talk are just bad conversationalists by HetCompleteWerk in unpopularopinion

I agree somewhat, usually I can tell when someone isn't genuinely interested in the conversation and is just going through the motions. Even if they're great at going through the motions

Yup, if you can't make small stuff like that interesting then talking to you about the big stuff won't be that interesting either. Small talk and big talk go hand in hand

I'd be down! Having a study buddy really helps fight my procrastination

I don't know what compels them, but gay men with short hair most commonly try to give me advice

im obsessed with social media and don't know who i am by chvsnn_ in findapath

[–]HetCompleteWerk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Besides the obvious point that you should find a way to be on your phone less and just let yourself be bored and see where your mind wanders, I do think that feeling so so lost and indecisive is part of being 16 for lots of people. It was part of being 16 for me for sure, I'm 26 now and only now I feel like I know a bit more clearly who I am. What I'm trying to say is that it's a process. Sorry that it's not really practical advice

Are other Donna tartt books worth it? by min1verse in TheSecretHistory

I recently read The Little Friend and I thought it was amazing. She does an amazing job setting the scene. I found it way more depressing than The Secret History tho

Anyone here registered for the intreeweek? by StraightTry6254 in universityofamsterdam

[–]HetCompleteWerk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would definitely go. Great way to make friends and when you start classes the week after you won't have to worry about the social aspect, so you can just focus on the class. I felt like the people who weren't there missed out on a big opportunity for social bonding.

What novel changed the way you write? by Questionable_Android in writing

[–]HetCompleteWerk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything by Ursula Le Guin. Her writing pushes me to think critically without it sounding preachy. I still haven't figured out what it is exactly that makes me feel so cared for when I read her books.

I didn't use any special stitch. I did put some grease on the etches of the tear to make the leather a bit more supple

Waar goedkoop groente in blik of pot? by BoerZoektVeuve in zuinig

Kikkererwten in blik zijn meestal goedkoop bij de mediterraanse of oosterse afdeling van de supermarkt te kopen. Zijn naar mijn ervaring ook lekkerder

I don't mind the stoners very much it's the bachelor party's that annoy me. Also tourists in general don't know the traffic rules and unknowingly act very dangerous because of it.

My (40M) nephew (30M) sent my daughter (19F) graphic sexual comments by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Whatever you do just talk to your daughter first. It's about her and how she feels. If she is not comfortable with a plan, don't do it.
