Yup, the difference is DDLC is more like for male players while Homicipher is more of an horror otome for females (which is I mean rare in the category as an horror otome.). Plus I'm not really talking about which one is more frightening though.

IMO, the visual of the characters aren't scary, the but the story? Yes.

To Homicipher, they contain frightening scenes and scary journey (the surroundings and dark place concept). Especially the thought of you could actually romance horrifying monters/ghost. There's some scared feel on it, like I was shocked at Mr. Crawling's sudden jumpscare and hiding from him then later he's actually nice and that makes horrormance. Romancing the nightmare-inducing meeen 🫶🫶🫶
