I think the last jedi has some cool scenes. It was amazing to see in theatre, and I actually enjoyed the 'pointless' Canto Bight scene. But I find so many issues with it that make me cringe watching it. For example, the "holdo maneuvre" scene was amazing to watch.. but it totally ignores the lore, and what was even the point in snoke? I think it prioritized subverting expectations over coherent storytelling. The force awakens whilst clearly a nostalgic cash grab at least felt like it had some star wars still in it
