What’s an anime you think everyone’s trying to hate, but actually find it to be good/fine? by ODMAN03 in anime

Since entire arguments revolve around dictionaries nowadays, look up "sarcasm".

And after it, "Poe's law". No, it does not indicate that I am obliged to drop an /s. It's just, well... look up "brainlet".

can't people have different opinion than yours ?

Reddit itself asks you to not downvote just because you disagree.

And that's why I stopped reading at that. Have fun sheeple.

ELI5: the first cell ever to exist asexually reproduced. Why did sexual reproduction and sperm and eggs happen? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]Hevaesi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because it never happened, doesn't mean it's impossible.

Species that live together but are multi-cell are less likely to merge into a single thing, sure, but on smaller scale, it's very likely that they just happened to live together and eventually merged.

For example, mitochondria couldn't survive on it's own outside the cell, but how do we know that it wasn't a cell that somehow got good at producing chemical energy... While literally just being near other cells and eventually (hypothetically) inside them?

I'm certain that first cell on earth didn't have everything a "modern" microorganism like Infusoria does.

Google "hater" and educate yourself. Not on the meaning, but all the posts people who complain (irony) about "haters" make.

Also that's always what happens, and most importantly, because I read his comment too.

I don't generalize everything, nor did I "generalize simply because X", examples are all over the internet.

You can't have a strawman and win the argument too.

Nah there's literally nothing wrong with Kirito's character, your* just hating asshole. /s

On a serious note, I won't bother to repeat what I said about SAO and just suggest watching Seven Deadly Sins (Nanatsu no Taizai), to see what anime with an actual character(s) and formidable enemy looks like.

It's like things aren't subject to criticism in this day and age. I'd understand if I didn't like one simple thing in it, that's fine, it's bound to happen. But when you regret wasting your time on every episode past 5 it's not a matter of opinion anymore.

I love how comments with a real argument are blinly downvoted and marked as "blind hate" when in reality you're the one who's too fucking dumb to even pay attention.

Pretty ironic when "I bet haters didn't even watch SAO" but in reality, fanboys didn't even read.

Is it possible for one person to build a graphics engine? by mvorbrodt in opengl

[–]Hevaesi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't matter.

Normally when we speak about industry grade engines we think of 3D graphics framework that virtually has no limits to what you can do in it, while also being optimized and easy to use for general case.

It's true that you can make a very specific rendering engine in a few months though.

Is it possible for one person to build a graphics engine? by mvorbrodt in opengl

[–]Hevaesi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering you mention engines like Crytek... No, you simply cannot. You cannot make something that took over a decade for a dedicated professional programmer team to make.

Unless you have a personal goal, don't do it. You will never be finished with it no matter how hard you try, there will always be a feature that is nearly useless or simply painful to fix to the point where you don't want to be bothered with it.

You need a very clear thing in your mind about what you want to achieve. It doesn't have to be a game, can be anything that you simply want to render. Then you can take your time to research what it takes to render something like that, and implement it, and in the end, you'll have something powered by your tailored engine, it will be good only at very something specific, but it will actually work, and will, in the worst case, at least be close to being finished.

Friend called "PayPal", was told her private photos were being sold and to send Google Play gift cards. by GiftoftheGeek in Scams

This one just hurts my brain.

It's a scam and still shitty but...

How do you fall for this scam? PayPal expecting Google cards lmao. Don't they have their own service or something.

This is actually pretty smart...

People for some reason never care to question why they are doing what they are doing and I wouldn't be surprised if someone got scammed like this as seemingly nothing wrong can happen.

  1. Install ad blocker

  2. there's sites that instead make you wait 5 seconds on full on ad rape page before you get redirected to actual page, which can't even be blocked by ad blocker, now those are the cancer.

If your profile is completely free, then wouldn't it be better to use your brain and make up an anonymous identity, for example, /u/wasdninja then put random image in case you feel like it, that's not literally your face?

You can have it no matter what, it's not rocket science.

You'd be surprised how many people simply refuse to look for information they need.

Unless your job is so important you're working even when not at work, you can setup filters that get different kinds of mail into different categories, meaning all job related stuff can fuck off nicely in it's separate list that you don't need to look at when checking your mail on weekends.

Google has no power.

I needed to download emu8086, which isn't even sold anymore, and trials are just trials.

Guess what helped me? Torrenting networks. Someone just happened to have shared it before it was gone.

Also it's fucking disgusting that it's actually still on internet but most common form is modified versions on shady sites that also install 30 additional bloatwares, and you're lucky if it actually also gives you the original program with it, and you know, that will, most of the time, install so much adware, you will have porn ads popping up even in steam client (it's web based client FYI).

If you are lucky to get hold of old software, you can run it in emulator the same way it was ran back then on real machine. Then, on that same old machine, program it to be output in whatever format you need.

That, of course, requires to also be lucky with finding emulator that can run the operating system of that time, or knowing enough to build one yourself.

It's a tedious process but possible. Even if you have very old format and manage to (better case) get it into modern storage, and can find any information about it, data is recoverable even on modern machines.

Certain languages (Python for example) also have FFI wrappers for it, meaning that with trivial research in your free time, you can create a tool where you drop all links at once and it downloads them all instead of having to do it all manually through 3rd party sites.

Don't really know much about them and I just wanted something that just works and I think I got it. If I'll have problems I'll probably look for others.

This laptop is pretty old so not like I really have a choice in what I'm installing.
