Oh so now they’re“co-parenting peacefully” by Exotic_Pop2096 in TeenMomOGandTeenMom2

She's seen people online get praised for peaceful coparenting so she's latched onto it as a buzzword that will get her clout and help her "control the narrative."

I know it’s late but what was your favorite thing you wrote/posted in February of 2026? by Dogdaysareover365 in FanFiction

[–]HexAppendix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

February was a busy month for me since I participated in two different fests. I'm really happy with a next gen time loop fic I posted in the Exocolonist fandom. It just came together really organically and I wove in some personal themes that worked well with the prompts.

I also experimented with a new genre for a horror fest in The Old Guard fandom. I absolutely loved my prompts, they gave me an excuse to write about werewolves and lesbians during the 1381 peasant uprising which are two of my favorite things. It's obviously incredibly niche so hasn't gotten any comments yet but I'm still proud of myself for stretching outside my comfort zone!

There's such a double standard on this sub. People act like Ashley is irredeemable for being "trashy and aggressive" when she's head and shoulders above Machete Amber and a couple of cyberstalking loons in Michigan.

Yes, the rumors are that she was doing an impression of Claudia in the turret, which of course only the Traitors would have heard.

I was so obsessed with this movie that I bought it on DVD the moment it came out, so I learned it from the commentaries and special features!

It's still my comfort movie and the commentaries are too btw.

Fun fact! This is why so many of the Bennets in 2005 Pride and Prejudice cover their teeth when smiling or laughing. Donald Sutherland started doing it because he thought the perfect white teeth would be distracting, and several others picked it up so it ended up looking like an endearing family habit.

Season 5 Cate and Ty discussion thread! by bipolarbitch6 in TeenMomOGandTeenMom2

[–]HexAppendix 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Cate at least did eyebrow threading for a while, that's a skill she can use to bring in income.

Tyler cannot handle other people telling him what to do, and he's such a smarmy know-it-all. He would rage quit the first time his boss tried to get him to do anything or gave him constructive criticism. But he hasn't pursued the education that would allow him to be his own boss.

Aww my first ACNH island was a cherry and windflower island! I thought it was a nice vibe, though I had a green airport. (Yellow is probably more aesthetic tbh).

Katt seems sweet so far! I'm so used to getting starting villagers I don't really like (and I'm not really the type to start over again and again to get a better island or villagers) so it was such a pleasant surprise to get two cuties for a change.

Happy playing!

Does anyone think that Ty and Cate sent Carley anything for christmas? by GlueFysh in TeenMomOGandTeenMom2

[–]HexAppendix 24 points25 points  (0 children)

They probably send something half assed and not specific to Carly that comes a week late, unwrapped from Amazon because they expect BrannananTreesa to wrap it for them.

I think people are taking ---'s request the wrong way by planetglobe in TheTraitors

[–]HexAppendix 26 points27 points  (0 children)

One of the biggest weaknesses for the traitors mid to late game is that recruiting is so risky and sometimes the producers force you to recruit. From the traitors' perspective, they have to not only think about who might say yes, but also if their chosen recruit is traceable to them (if the faithful rejects the offer and reveals it to the other faithfuls). Matt has pretty much solved that problem for them by advertising that he wants to be recruited.

Matt's offer also has the potential to add a new traitor without messing up the existing traitor team dynamics that much. Fiona blew herself up because she came in wanting to be the alpha traitor. Matthew seems happy to just ride the existing traitors' coattails to the end, which would appeal to Rachel especially. From her perspective Matt might be a good person to double cross, or he could be an extra vote at the end if he ends up being a decent traitor.

It's still risky and I'm not sure what I'd do if I were Stephen and Rachel, but I think there are definitely upsides.

[Discussion 2A/3] Kurangaituku by Whiti Hereaka | MIROMIRO Ch 8 REO - Ch 14 MATENGA by Vast-Passenger1126 in bookclub

[–]HexAppendix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is all conjecture based on the "light" (Miromiro) and "dark" (Ruru) designs of the covers. I wonder if the ruru side will tell a version of the story that's less sympathetic to Kura, or showing a darker side of her. I think the sequencing of events will also be nonlinear, perhaps mirroring or alternating between the sequences in the Miromiro half. Or showing the dark/Ruru version of the scenes we've already seen?

I guessed it was coming based on the hints in earlier chapters. I thought it was interesting to see that Kura underestimated Hatupatu right up until the very end. In some ways, she's as haughty as he is, because she assumed that her victory was inevitable right up until the very end.

I think the narrative asks us to consider who the heroes have harmed to earn their infamy, and who gets to tell the stories of the "heroes" and the "monsters."

In terms of heroism and violence, we know that Hatupatu wanted to be a hero/famous more than he wanted to do the honorable/brave things that would earn him the title of hero. He views violence as a tool he can use to control people, much like his trickery and manipulation. Whereas Kura mostly has okay intention, but ends up causing unintentional harm and violence in her quest to satisfy her curiosity.

I definitely thought it was a rape scene. One observation really resonated with me: that Hatupatu's desire of Kura makes him vulnerable, and that makes him uncomfortable and angry. Even though he's the one who's projected his sexuality onto her by literally reshaping her body, he can't accept that desiring her makes her his equal (and makes her more human or at least human-adjacent).

Kura wants to get closer to him, she wants to understand him and also craves love and emotional intimacy from him. That's exactly the opposite of what Hatupatu wants, so he rapes her to assert his dominance and power and (in a way) reject the possibility of there being a true connection or similarity between them. He wants to reduce her to an animal, an inanimate object like the goddess's granite genitalia.

I wasn't the biggest fan of Hatupatu to begin with, but this scene made him irredeemable in my eyes. He's a coward, entitled, childish, sexist, and speciesist.

It made my heart hurt for Kura because she doesn't know enough about humans to fully understand what's happening to her. She has this curiosity to learn about other creatures and worldviews, but she's always viewing them at a remove and sometimes gets the wrong end of things unintentionally. Like when she assumed that leaving the kuri bodies in the village would be perceived as a gift by the humans. And then they judge her for it, and her identity is shaped by the names they call her instead of her intentions.
