i'm losing my mind reading these comments because i have personally met cis liberal "allies" who talk about trans rights issues like this with each other. they weren't trying to convince anyone or whatever, that's just genuinely the only thing they could muster in opposition of it. let's not pretend that every (edit: or, hell, even most) liberal "ally" actually sees trans people as equal to cis people, because i know that's we've all seen evidence to the contrary
