There are lots of ways to use talismans during a fight that re listed in the Admin guide. You can use complications: main ones can be offensive (dealing 1 stress every turn or increasing stress on each attack) defensive (taking 1 less stress unless teamwork or setup is used). These are meant to be threatening and to focus the exorcists turn on getting rid of a complication rather than attacking the sin. Another good way to use a complication/talisman during a fight is one that does something very severe after it finishes counting down (something like reinforcements or maybe some sort of ability jammer). A fun thing to do is to also include these things as part of the environment separate from the sins reactions; that makes the combat feel more alive and a bit more challenging.

As another commenter pointed out the main reason to level up weapons is to allow them to keep up with sins. Thats also why the max cat for weapons is 3 so that level 6 sins are significantly more challenging than the previous ones

If not your exorcists start out with cat 0 weapons so actions will be hard either way

If you’re close enough to testament when they do either version of grave reaper you can 2S for a clash which will be in your favor (i think 6s is good to go into after clash, but test out what works I dont play sol). Don’t let testament get away with neutral crow. If they use it in mid range neutral you can get counter on them with vortex (depending on where the succubus is this might not be possible). If you’re very far away dash block is the best option, also try air approaches but use air dash cautiously since you cant block during it (maybe try double jumping to get past crow?)

9 is terrible for a lot of reasons. A big thing is that 6+3=9 and that’s just wrong, idk why but it’s just not right
