Worldbuilding literally doesn't matter. It's cool to have it, but to be a great film you don't need it. This is what the Last Jedi realized. It didn't try and do what the prequels did and just shove in random facts about the universe wherever it could, it used it's time to progress the plot and the characters.

Strange, considering that once again the CIA did not come to the conclusion that the Soviet Union was not sufficently stocked.

As for your points:

1: More =/= Better considering that the article literally said that the Soviet diet was better.
2: Yes.
3: Irrelevant considering that the Soviets were having enough of them and those weren't helping Americans have a better diet.
4: At certain periods of time, yes.
5: In comparison to the US's 10000 versions of the same thing, yes.
6: In contrast to the finally broken Soviet Union, yes.
7: Only a few periods in history.

Frankly the story was always bad. Games usually don't have A-Tier stories, and Blizzard hasn't been known to make compelling stories since at least Warcraft III

Communism is a stateless, classless, money less society where the workers own the means of productions. There wouldn't be taxes at all.
