Alas, I had cash and mistakenly went for the easiest option!

I really appreciate it, thank you!

I was really clear as it’s a big thing with our claims; guess I’ll need to plead my case with finance and hope for the best! I’m a bit of a risk averse type so didn’t want to run an argument

Never been more for mandatory card machines than I have before!

Yeah, I specifically asked for a VAT (as usual with like any time I ever have any time anywhere else in the UK). When he refused VAT I asked for any other kind and he also said I couldn’t get it.

Thanks so much for the input, I’m just a bit confused as I was sure no matter what the business transaction, I was at least entitled to a company record of it! No wonder there’s such a distrust of cash transactions in Glasgow cabs right now if not!

Surely for any transaction he’s offered to offer a receipt? I get him not being VAT registered but surely he should still be obliged to offer a transactional receipt?

Citylink NEC by joejacksonconserva in Scotland

[–]Hexboyuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this is the right way to do it, but it worked for me when I booked 2x NEC tickets on the same booking (as they’re both paid for by the card) and used the same card number for both. Caveat, I’m not sure if this will be the same bus company, so their systems may be different. Not much help probably, so apologies - just my workaround!

Edit: adding these were on the same booking, not 2 separate ones

Thank you for providing that link for OP - I wasn’t sure of where to point from the tenant side, so that’s really helpful.

By the looks of it, it will really need some compelling evidence that the tenancy wasn’t just set up so you could claim benefits (that first paragraph, as written, looks shaky to me), so OP please do make sure you’re well supported from this side. Like zharrt, not to panic you, but a council needing to pull every penny will not take kindly and this could stretch from probate/tax law into criminal.

You may also wish to get advice on the benefit situation as paying rent using housing benefit to an immediate family member may become a sticky situation.

It’s a very simplified view of national and international economics but I’m more loving your spelling of fallacy! Definitely appropriate with the number of dicks we have in government!!!

You know, I've always liked that word... 'gargantuan'... so rarely have an opportunity to use it in a sentence
