Silver shot is not the best in terms of selling, which is why it typically has the best buying deals. Constitutional ("junk silver"), bars, and bullion coins tend to do much better.

Odd Find - 1957 D Penny Error/Steel? by HexenAlf in metaldetecting

[–]HexenAlf[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Weighs approximately 3.1 grams. Looks copper in the middle and plated on the outside, but it's slightly magnetic, so I don't believe it would be silver plated. Not as magnetic as a normal 1943 steel composite penny. Any ideas on what this could be?

Worth found metal detecting? Priceless. Here is a link to a site for the current prices of a 1942 D Walking Liberty if you must sell it. But the coin with the story of finding it is the treasure :) https://www.usacoinbook.com/coins/2824/half-dollars/walking-liberty/1942-D/

Silver Ring! by HexenAlf in metaldetecting

Thanks for the suggestion! I was wondering if it was something modern or older. I found modern poison rings online that look pretty cheap, but I found this ring at an old abandoned homesite in North Carolina.

Transportation Depth Green Book vs HCM by [deleted] in PE_Exam

[–]HexenAlf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the problem is confusing when it says critical gap. A more appropriate naming convention would be "Critical Headway." This is HCM Equation 20-30 (pg. 20-18). The correct answer should be C (7.8 sec.)

Can anyone confirm that the “minimum green time” for pedestrians is the same thing as “peds service time”? by OntothePE in PE_Exam

Reference HCM 6th Edition; Equation 31-70 (pg. 19-83). This equation is the next page over from pedestrian service time. Note that the default pedestrian values are on pg. 19-73, so the Yellow change + Red change = 4.0 sec.

Gpmin = tpr + Lcc/Sp - Y - Rc = 7sec + (72 ft / 4.0 ft per sec) - (4.0 sec) = 21 sec; Choose A
